Anyone have an extra Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo Adapter that you don't need? (and would send to me?)
I am getting SOooooo tired of all these "NEW and Improved" digital storage memory card, sticks, micro-sticksBS, etc.!

I thought my USB 21-in-1 Memory card reader was about as crazy as it was going to get, but now my new Sony-Ericsson Walkman W300i Cell Phone needed a Memory Stick Micro M2 card to work as advertised, but when you buy the M2 card, it comes with a Memory Stick PRO Duo adapter for the M2 to work in your Memory Stick PRO Duo card reader device.

Apparently, my 21-in-1 reader, that reads the old Memory Stick and the newer Memory Stick PRO won't read Memory Stick PRO Duo or any of the other 31 card types I've never even heard of before now!

That's right! Either I find someone with a spare Memory Stick PRO Duo adapter or again bow down again our all powerful Corporate Overlords and get A NEW 52-in-1 USB Card Reader that probably won't even work very well. :banghead:

That's RIGHT

52-in-1!!!

Here's the new list and link: <http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1951865&CatId=962>

1. Anyone?
Even if you don't, comments on the need for a 52-in-1 are welcome too.

7. okay, I'll rant too!
You're talking to someone who's working off a perfectly-usable 9-year-old laptop (that is no longer given technical support by the manufacturer, so I have to buy old ones and sub in parts if it breaks).

My neighborhood camera store couldn't sell me one of the CF cards they'd been touting just a year before, on the grounds that they didn't stock cameras that used them anymore! I had to get one on eBay.

What is it with stuff that pops up in the store windows as "the next great thing", then it drops off the radar in less time than it takes to complete a university degree?

Wish I could help you, Up2Late. Things move a bit more slowly up here in Canada, so if you are desperate I could look around and see if any local retailers have stuff you need.

Yep, I know where you're coming from... and no, I don't have the adapter you're in need of, sorry, wish I did...

but I do understand what you're dealing with as I have been in the process of moving and as I've been putting technological things in boxes, things I haven't touched in ten years, I'm seeing, I swear, every possible adapter that I've ever had to purchase to keep my own tech functioning with the current tech on the market. It's excruciating. And don't get me started on all the friggin' cables that have absolutely no reason to exist any more, because I fear a bout of cable anxiety coming on...

However, I have finally come to terms with it and have accepted my fate. And that is that I have realized that I will always have to buy new equipment to be able to continue to use the technology I now have if it is more than 6 months old.

...I have one too.

And you KNOW that if you throw any of them away, you just going to need that exact cable in another month and will NOT be able to find won at the store!:banghead:
