http://www.atlargely.com/2007/11/of-impeachment-.htmlOf impeachment, strategists, cowards, and swollen faces...I apparently missed some major excitement (more on this later) in the form of an impeachment resolution brought to the floor by Congressman Kucinich. This was not surprising, for he had long announced that it was coming down the pike. What was surprising is that a strange political dance occurred in which Democratic leaders in the House became Cheney water carriers and even more strangely, the Republican leadership appeared to side with the few Dems wanting this resolution to be debated.
The DemocratsHouse leader Congressman Hoyer demonstrated that he is either fully owned by the military industrial complex or does not have the courage to allow an honest debate desired by the majority of the public and certainly needed given the high crimes of Richard Cheney.
Hoyer, like some of his cohorts think that they can "take impeachment of the table," as though such a thing is their very own toy to adjust, put down, remove, introduce, and do whatever they wish to with. The reality is that impeachment is a tool of the people, for the people, and is introduced by the people's will through their elected leadership. The people have long demanded this - all but the 20% or so either so corrupt or so ridiculously idiotic, that it is a wonder they can dress themselves in the morning.
The idea that regardless of the evidence, all discussion - that is by Constitutional edict demanded, by public outcry warranted, and by oath of office required - is simply not something of political interest to the Democratic House leadership is not only cowardice, it stands against everything this country was founded on.
Mr. Hoyer and all of those who wish to play politics with the most important tool imparted by the founders of this nation to the people of this nation, have not only shown themselves as cowards, but have blatantly violated their oath of office.
The Republicans:On the other side of this spectacle stood the Republican House leadership who, while thinking it clever to prove that the Democrats don't have the courage of their convictions (big surprise, we already knew that), actually unleashed much more than they realized. If this were a trap set by Kucinich and Conyers, it worked exceptionally well to lure the arrogant Republicans into thinking that in order to humilate the cowardly Democrats, they would stand with the few real champions of Democracy in Congress, and by doing so, paint all Democrats as cowards and finally end the debate.

Now of course, this may have been nothing but dumb luck and not masterful strategy, but whatever it was, it allowed for Republicans to prove how opportunism can always be counted on to turn on itself eventually.
Am I wrong? Well, what was the conversation at every dinner table tonight? What was on every news show tonight and what will be in every newspaper tomorrow morning? Usually, such things as what happened on the floor of Congress on any given day are generally relegated to C-Span, far away from the entertainment news hour and far away from the majority of American citizens.
Now, the reasons for why Dick Cheney should be impeached, as outlined in the articles presented by Kucinich, are all anyone is talking about. The Malkinites are not amused:In the typical fashion of low-life self-absorption and absolute stupidity, Michelle "shiksa" Malkin (and her brain-dead followers) are calling this "nuts," "crazy," stupid," and all the while keeping the discussion going, fueling the flames, feeding the fire. I wonder if Malkin has more luck with strategy when she is simply targeting children and not, for example, popular public opinion?

Of Swollen Faces:As you might have noticed (or perhaps not), I have absent for nearly 48 hours. Apparently I overdid it a bit during the move, not realizing just how much, and my Lupus got me in a big flare - a strange one. My entire face is swollen and shiny red, and I am running a fever.
