Blackmail of the Democratic Party leaders in Congress: bet on it
Edited on Wed Nov-07-07 03:49 AM by steve2470
I have a sneaking suspicion that in the years ahead (especially after some of the participants have died), we will find out that all of our Democratic leaders in Congress have been blackmailed. Their behavior, when it really counts, bespeaks blackmail to me. I can't prove this, of course, but politics is a blood sport and what better way to draw blood than hold a sharp knife to the throat of your opponent ?

If they will blatantly lie about Iraq, almost completely abandon New Orleans, and raid the Treasury for billions of dollars, what's blackmailing the Dem leaders ? All in a days work.

on edit: oh and I forgot the sacrifice of some of our finest men and women in Iraq and the slaughter of Iraqis.

1. No evidence of any kind, I take it? Just smear and innuendo?

2. You're new to politics, aren't you?
Politicians always blatantly lie and raid the treasury. It's fun, and profitable.

5. no.
I don't think. They're just ambitious pols who care more about power and elections than they do the welfare of the country.

8. Another bet lost: the Democrats in Congress showed the highest Democratic unity score in 51 years.
Edited on Wed Nov-07-07 07:07 AM by Perry Logan
The Democrats in Congress are behaving the OPPOSITE of how they would if they were being blackmailed:

"President Bush's success rating in the Democratic-controlled House has fallen this year to a half-century low, and he prevailed on only 14 percent of the 76 roll call votes on which he took a clear position.

"So far this year, Democrats have backed the majority position of their caucus 91 percent of the time on average on such votes. That marks the highest Democratic unity score in 51 years."

Don't let the media rhetoric fool you. The Democrats have acquitted themselves quite well--especially given their bare majority in both houses, and a relentlessly obstructionist Republican minority.
