Cuyahoga County plagued with voting machine problems again
Edited on Wed Nov-07-07 06:09 AM by liberal N proud
5 Percent Of Registered Voters Cast Ballots

<snip>
Officials at the BOE had to stop counting ballots at about 11 p.m. All the voting machines went down while downloading memory cards.

The server first crashed at about 9 p.m. for 10 minutes and then it started again.

After going down for the second time, a Diebold technician was called in to to take a look at the problem.

Machines were then taken down every 45 minutes for the BOE to be able to save the information from all the cards.

1. Cuyahoga County IMO is where thousands of votes
disappeared in 2004 and never really was accounted for. Are they just perfecting their plans for 2008?

2. If it couldn't handle 5% of the voters what will it be like in a General Election?
Of course Diebold equipment is in place.

3. Though well intentioned
their new Dem management and Board members are still political appointees and don't have a lot of technical expertise. Most of the regular staff there are also still political appointees with the same problem.
