4. OK.
I didn't expect to cover the full range of how people felt. Thanks for weighing in, anyway.

6. Right.
From the heading, it clearly is aimed towards expressing and measuring anger towards democrats. I felt that as a non-angry democrat, I might offer my humble opinion as a sort of asterisk in the echo chamber of heated passions. For, as Ben Franklin said, "When passions drive, let reason hold the reins."

7. Well, it's certainly aimed at quantifying the anger toward
dems that's apparent in thread after thread, but it's actually not intended to channel it into expression, though that's inevitable.

10. Seconded H20 man. On the other hand...the answers to the poll seem to reflect
exactly what the bush administration wants people to think about congress.

With that said, it looks the same whether or not the poll was posted @ FreakRepublic or DU. So I guess * is really unifying some people. That's a good thing...right?

12. No.
Third parties aren't very popular. You're essentially voting selfishness at that point.

5. Last night I was stuck with watching Wolf on CNN
and the journalist who was reporting the news (because God forbid Wolf can't report any news) laughed the whole time when she discussed (ha, ha, funny, funny) the Impeachment of Cheney, (wink, wink, chuckle chuckle). It infuriated me.

When over half of the Americans polled want Cheney Impeached this ignorant, idiotic news reported makes a joke of it. (The survey by the American Research Group found that 45 percent support the US House of Representatives beginning impeachment proceedings against Bush, with 46 percent opposed, and a 54-40 split in favor when it comes to Cheney.)

Why, because Pelosi is Pooh-poohing it. Oh, we just have so many more important things to do then upholding the Constitution or doing what over 54% of Americans want us to do. We can't waste our very precious time holding the executive accountable. We'll send a nasty worded letter instead.

It is just like they did when the bushes stole the elections. Just like they did when the black robed junta called the supremes selected our president for us. Just like they did when people said there were no WMDs. And Pelosi has swallowed the right wing spin hook, line and sinker.

9. We are the Democrats, I'm proud of us
The leaders in Congress have some problems, though. I felt sorry for them, they've been so beaten down by Bush/GOP and the news media they don't realize their power and the support they have from US voters. Yesterday's vote was a Pavlovian response to a long term dysfunctional relationship with the GOP. Even when Dems had the advantage, they reacted defensively. They've become so conditioned to reacting, they no longer know how to wield power effectively.

They have to stop dancing to the GOP's tune, stop watching FOX and CNN and start leading from their strengths.

11. They're Not Beaten Down - This Is Their Strategy
It's the "We suck slightly less than the Republicans, but who else are you gonna vote for, asshole?!" strategy.

15. Crawl, Walk, Run, Fly
Some may recall that in the wake of the '04 elections there were predictions that the Democrats were on the verge of extinction. They were on the edge of having veto proof Repugnican majorities in both houses (shudder at that thought for a moment). For most of the past 7 years, we've had a rubber stamp Congress run by a mafia that turned Congress into a literal plantation. Democrats were lucky to get a meeting room in the basement...microphones were regularly shut off. Many of the Democrats serving today were lucky to get bathroom privilidges yet show much leadership.

The '06 elections were to stop the runaway train the Repugnicans had become. It wasn't a mandate as it was a shift in the balance...the mandate comes in the elections ahead. Many people voted against the corruption and lies of the Repugnicans as much, or more, than they did FOR Democrats. The deal has to be sold this election for real change to begin.

The House and Senate have been on long learning curves and short leashes. They face obstructionist Repugnicans who have shown time and again how little concern they have for the American people and continue to enable the booosh regime. Control doesn't mean domination...Majorities of 250 or more in the House and 55 seats or more in the Senate enables that...and we're not there yet.

There's a lot of work to do and this next election should be one of continued progress, not the do-all, end-all, but a stage in creating a long-term Democratic majority led by progressive and liberal agendas. Leadership and the party will come along...sometimes kicking and screaming.

I'm not angry, just frustrated.
