High-fives and shout-outs to my fellow Virginia Democrats..
Edited on Wed Nov-07-07 09:09 AM by Virginia Dare
it's a good day!

I was bit overcome this morning when I realized my state senator Dick Saslaw is the new majority leader. Dick Saslaw's very first campaign was the first political campaign I ever worked on back in high school as an AP Government project. I've been hooked on politics ever since.

It seems that the repubs' xenophobic and racist attempts at using immigration as a wedge issue failed.

Tom Davis's wife Jeanne Marie Devolites's attempt at painting herself a liberal Republican failed miserably, and she's gone, a big blow for old Tom. His career is in a death spiral.

The citizens of Virginia have seemed to reject the republican extremists in favor of the moderate Democrats, and that's a good thing for our state.

Things are looking up here for us, I can't wait until next year when Mark Warner takes the second senate seat!!

2. The best news is the Republicans
can't pull another gerrymander like last time. To be honest, I wish Virginia would go to a system more like Iowa's
