Has the "flying saucer" thing neutered Kucinich?
Even if you have seen a UFO, don't you think it's a good idea to keep your mouth shut about it if you're a politician seeking office?

out in a book and he told the truth...of course he could have equivocated like the rest of the candidates?

5. I'm saying that the UFO thing has made him an easy target for ridicule...
I would love nothing more than to see Cheney go down, but I wish someone who hadn't claimed to see a UFO was behind the effort. I mean, really.

I like the man personally. Anyone with the sack to go on Colbert Report gets points in my book, but his politics are to extreme for just about everyone outside of DU. When you don't have to worry about winning, you can say whatever the heck you want.

25. Actually, his politics aren't extreme...
Most Americans want single-payer health care, the want rid of Cheney, they want NAFTA repealed and they want good-paying jobs to stay in the United States.

That's what Dennis stands for, which is hardly outside of the extreme.

The only people who think it's extreme are the Republicans and the corporate media.

33. Well, that's true - but one issue doesn't make him "extreme."
He's pretty much in line with what most Americans want on most all of the other issues, save gun control and the Department of Peace.

Most people want out of Iraq, are pro-choice, want to protect social security and want to sustain the Middle Class and American workers.

I don't really have a candidate, but, since it looks as though Clark, Gore and Feingold aren't going to run, I'll probably vote for Kooch since he's closest in line with my belief systems. And, you know something, if people would stop thinking he can't get elected because he's short or because the media wants to make him into a kook, he'd probably win the primary based on 95 percent of his stances on important issues.

42. Being in Line and the method of getting there
are often very different things. Lots of Americans want health care for all. Not all Americans are in agreement on the method for achieving this. Do you think there are any candidates who are going to come out and say they are NOT for sustaining the middle class? That's one of those vague issues that both sides say they're going to do but are vague on what their plan is. I agree with Kucinich on quite a few things as well...but I want to know how he plans to achieve them. Because if that plan is a substantial tax hike, I don't think he's going to find much popular support for it. People support lots of things until that thing reaches for their bank account.

That's pretty extreme in my opinion, especially when one considers two Polls on DU alone. One showing that almost 50% of DUers OWN a handgun, and another showing that about 80% of DU'ers support the right of individuals to own handguns.

11. Only for people with closed minds who believe that science has explained
everything and that there are no mysteries left on Earth and beyond Earth.

UFO = Unidentified Flying Object

It may be that a UFO can be identified, but not by the person who saw it. Ergo, it is a UFO to the witness.

And it might be that a UFO is a UFO because science has not yet be able to make a conclusive identification of the object.

Just under three hundred seventy-four years ago, Galileo was ordered to stand trial for heresy for promoting the theory of heliocentrism... I'm sure that those who persecuted and prosecuted Galileo believed firmly that the Sun did rotate around the Earth and not the other way around.

12. He never said he saw a "flying saucer", he said "UFO" - Unidentified Flying Object
and NO, when Fat Timmeh asked him about it, he handled it in an appropriate manner. If he would have lied and said "no, I didn't say I saw one", they would have been all over him calling him a LIAR.

Reagan saw a "UFO". Carter saw a "UFO". Pilots and Astronauts have reported seeing "UFOs"

A better idea would be for *you* to keep your mouth shut about "flying saucers" and quit putting words in peoples mouths. How's that sound? Deal?
