Do all the other congresspeople have as much extra time as the pres. candidates?

A helluva lot of time is spent campaigning..just wondering how the ones running for office can take a couple of years out of their elected position to campaign most of the time...is that just extra time where they dont do anything and so they all have that much extra time? or do the presidential candidates just sneak out for two years and contribute their work by interacting thru their campaigns..and the issues more from a grassroots level?

and while I'm at it...couldnt more people be hired by congress to assist with the current investigations?..maybe all those fired us attorneys?..why does conyers even mention all the other investigations?..isn't this an opportunity?.what is the holdup?..hearings should be scheduled back to back ...there are enough experts, there is enough information in the public sector, documentaries, books, about this corruption..this is not new stuff..the time is now...
