23. This was something that my so and I were discussing
Remember not too long ago a real WIDE difference between gasoline, depending on where you lived in the country? And now seeing these posts -- just how CLOSE ALL the prices are now? Just how did THIS happen, without some real finagling going on with ALL the oil companies?

I'll probably get flamed, but it just seems too coincidental.

85. There are 42 gallons of oil in one barrel
Edited on Wed Nov-07-07 04:48 PM by Ms. November
(source: Google)

If it hits $100/gallon today, that would be $4.20/gallon (crude oil?)
Then you figure the cost of refining.
Even if a few people got together and bought a barrel of oil, it wouldn't even save any money.

I have a little too much time on my hands today. :-)

SF Bay Area, Peninsula: mid-level per gallon, Chevron: $3.50 and rising. A crime. A filthy oily crime.

:grr:

edit: that's actually $2.39/gal. per barrel. my mistake

it is $2.89/gallon. At the station I frequent that $2.89 gets me 89 octane with 10 percent ethanol. Their regular 87 octane with no ethanol is more. But the rest of the area stations have 87 octane at $2.89. At least that was the price yesterday afternoon -- I haven't seen what it is today.

I know we don't know each other, have never talked, and have no idea if we'd hate each other in person. however, I want to leave the U.S. and I can speak a little nederlands and we can sign a pre-nup that you are in no way financially responsible for me and all assets remain where they were, blah, blah...

All I want is a way to get an EU passport.

I wouldn't impose upon you for a place to live. I'd even cook dinner a few times if you'd like. (and not just soup and horse meat.)

I can sing the Sinter Klaus song also, if that would make any difference.

87. $2.85 just outside of Boston
The person owns 3 service stations that I know of... all the same price and all 3 within half a mile of me.

They've always had cheaper prices than any other gas station I've seen.

Two years ago the owner ran a publicity stunt and was selling gas for something like $1.00 per gallon for a day at all 3 stations.

At one point (at one station), they lowered the price to .50¢ per gallon for a couple of hours... traffic was backed up and drivers had to be waiting at least an hour or more in line.

91. gas went up 5 cents since yesterday
I live in Cornelius NC and I filled up my Prius yesterday when the gas was $2.94 a gallon

Drove by the same station today and the price is now $2.99

This crap is insane

Remember the good old days during the Clinton years when you could get gas for .99 cents a gallon.
