It seems they are pouring fuel on the fire on many issues and coming down on the side of either no action or blundering into counter productive cluster fucks....Look at the list below....Are they waiting for a war to reduce the Human Pop? Are they MIHOP? n so on with other issues? Why is the GOP/Bush so intransigent

The Planet.....

Over population

Bleak future

I had the opportunity to have a long talk with a fundamentalist Christian the other day and what he told me made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

We think of this war in terms of oil and global politics. But for the fundamentalist CHristians, this is a march towards Armageddon. They not only would like the see the prophesies of "The Revelation" occur in their lifetime, they actually feel the need to instigate policies to help that along.

What influence these groups have on our policy I don't know. But I do know they have a significant impact. And they also adhere to the modern doctrine of the new American racism. It's all underground, they keep their thoughts and plans to themselves, to like minds.

If this war is about oil, we can see an end.

If this war is religious based, then the end won't come till the world is afire...

9. "Grab everything, then ride out the crash on Roatan Island"
I think that's the psychology at work among the greedheads. The Jesus freaks are grooving on the Armageddon myth. Then there are the stupid, who think their daddies in Washington are going to watch out for them, no matter what.

In the meantime, conservatives fear change above anything else because change usually brings inconvenience and they hate to be inconvenienced. That's the reason for the intransigence.

Conservatives should be kept away from power. Forever.

13. The totalitarian control/opression of the many for the power and security of the few.
They see themselves as only having two choices--

1. repent, opening themselves up to the possibility of being held accountable for their slime trail of war crimes, crimes against the American rule of law and the Constitution and the criminal abuse and negligence of their offices

or

2. further consolidate their power so that number one can never hope to happen to them.

I think the choice they've made is fairly evident. And it's apparant that to escape judgement they count on the help of the complicit "opposition party" , which has given them ample protection and shelter already.

21. They absolutely do not have a death wish.
And they have no religious motivations either. That is nothing but cover to bring in the true believers. For evidence, read former deputy director of the White House office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives David Kuo's book 'Tempting Faith' where he describes the cynicism of Bush and Rove toward the true believers.

"As correspondent Lesley Stahl reports, he also says the White House was a place that cynically used religion for political ends and that White House aides ridiculed the very Christian leaders who helped bring Mr. Bush to office."

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/10/14/60minutes/main2089778.shtml

I've asked myself a variation of this question over these past years myself. The way I've asked it is, "are they evil or incompetent?" I've come to believe they are evil, primarily. Nobody can be this incompetent by chance. What people seem to forget is the Great Depression did not make everyone poor. The people at the top, very top, do quite well for themselves. This is disaster capitalism, with our own backyard included as the disaster.

45. Was very lucky, ended up next door to Santa Barbara.Palm trees.Mountains. Blue sky.Ocean.
It broke my heart to leave the Islands because my basic plan in life was to stay there forever. Shoulda married a local boy instead of a coast haole, but that's the brokes. I met that one in a college in San Bernardino County, where I was homesick beyond belief for green things, wetness, and clean air. The high desert is an acquired taste, but smog perfumed with steel mill is really bad. I took myself back to UH, he followed me, and I was able to stay another dozen years before he decided to move back to California.

The lucky part was that he said I could pick the town, so we drove up the coast from Cucamonga as far as Paso Robles before turning back. When I got to Santa Barbara, I just knew. I don't ever want to live futher inland than I do now, which is maybe 3 to 5 miles from the beach. It turned out to be a lot more expensive than expected and we did get divorced fairly soon after, but I love the Central Coast. And, again lucky, I met my second (and final) husband here. Raised the Oahu-born keikis here. Now I'm a tutu here. 's good.

Kaneohe is nice, just wetter than Kailua. And green. I'm getting all smiley just thinking about it.

...put the house up on stilts. Seriously, I don't think you can do that with stucco on cement slab houses -- but my childhood home on Oneawa Street was built raised to let the rain flow underneath....

Anyhow, I keep trying to find out exactly how far above sea level my house is, but can't seem to locate the information. My ex works in LA but has bought land on a bluff in Washington state. If worse comes to worst I figure the kids can hele on out there.

43. They consider it a strategy, not a death wish
Why do you think they've looted the treasury and stuffed it all in their Euro-mattresses? When the crash comes, and it will, they'll have the reserves (our money) to allow them to ride it out while our entire society restructures. At the other end of the tunnel, they'll have a hungry populace eager to work in their factories for Mexican wages, and no money available to waste on those lowly worthless homeless or people in need.

BRILLIANT! Pass the Guinness.
