Dear DUers. Would like your opinion.
I saw a report this a.m. re a new gun that detects microscopic amounts of methamphetimin (sp?) Don't people use money, dollar bills rolled up to snort this crap? And if so, don't we all use money? And can we now all be hauled in on suspicion? Yikes. :scared: I think this was in Greenle (sp?) County AZ where the device was tested, but am not sure.

1. Yes! Even "drug" dogs will often alert on ones wallet.
Circulating money is often "infused" with drug residue.

4. most use plastic straws or empty bic pens actually...
meth is kind of 'wet' and sticks to the paper bills.

but yes, the residue gets everywhere. I haven't done the stuff in years, but I can still smell it on people. The chemicals get 'sweated out' of your body, so everything they touch will have traces.
nasty, nasty stuff.

7. I never carry cash anyway, this just gives me another reason not
to. I sure wouldn't want to be arrested for someone else's crime! I love my debit card, it takes me everywhere.

8. me thinks that just shooting this thing around is a violation of the 4th Amend
but if it is a reasonable, warranted search it is just another tool, like a metal detector.

9. Don't lose sleep over this. If they want to bring you in, they'll find something.
If they start using something like this on a broad scale, too many children of government officials, judges and policemen will end up busted. More likely this will be used to bust meth dealers they can't get on anything else.

Just like fighting the war, they wouldn't want their chillens involved. The mobile vans containing meth labs driving around Phoenix better get a clue that shit kills and get some help.

percentage of the bills in circualtion has cocaine residue on it.
