Dems take over Canton, OH.
I know this is a local story for me...but it is a powerful story for hopefully what is to come in 2008. Canton, Ohio is a fairly conservative city that has had a Republican mayor and city council for many years. Yesterday that all changed.

The Republican mayor was de-throned and the city council is in Democratic control. Couple that with the new (as of last year) Democratic Govenor Ted Strickland that is great.

In addition, the "Red" state of Ohio now has Democrat leadership as mayors of Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Toledo, Akron, Canton and Cleveland. Youngstown's mayor is an Independent. Now that my friends is a positive trend.

1. We stopped being a Red State in 2006
That's good to hear about Canton, I'll be up there for the High School football state championships in Decemeber. Hope to see you there.

You have football here in Canton, then you have religion. It is a BIG deal as you know here.

2. I'm duly impressed, and quite happy to hear this. I went to HS in
Xenia (Beavercreek) and back then it was pretty much overrun by fundies.
