Anyone read the NY Times article on the impeachment show yesterday?
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/07/washington/07cheney.html

WASHINGTON, Nov. 6 — It is hard to know which effort has longer odds, the bid by Representative Dennis J. Kucinich, Democrat of Ohio, to become president of the United States, or his bid to unseat Vice President Dick Cheney by impeaching him.

<snip>

After a motion to table Mr. Kucinich’s bill failed, the majority leader, Steny H. Hoyer, Democrat of Maryland, stepped in with a motion to refer the bill back to the House Judiciary Committee. That motion succeeded, by a near-party-line vote of 218 to 194, and spared the Democrats a potentially embarrassing distraction.
emphasis mine

unfreakingbelievable

1. what's unbelievable? it would have been a disaster
it would have been up for one hour of debate after a two day waiting period. do you honestly believe that the US House of Representatives could impeach the Vice President of the United States in an hour?

the House Democrats were and are utterly unprepared for this. Conyers sat on H Res 333 since April. How many hearings have there been? How much testimony has been taken? How many documents have been requested?

Shame on them. DK did a masterful job yesterday. It's in no way his fauld that Pelosi and Hoyer were caught with their pants around their ankles.

2. Nowhere else but in the inside the beltway press
would a debate over impeaching the dick be considered "a potentially embarrassing distraction" for the Democrats.

They need to stop reading the Whoreshington Post.

4. Now I KNOW Kucinich is on the right track...

This morning I listened to NPR when it came on (5am right after the BBC) and not a word about the impeachment vote yesterday! I listened for 30 minutes and not a word! If CorpMedia is ignoring this important story, then I know it's gotta be good for the country!

CorpMedia is going batshit crazy over this. They don't know what to do, except make shit up like this NY Times article.

Of course NPR did have a feature on Gov. Haley Barbour winning re-election, but that's to be expected...:eyes:

edited for spelling...

5. I've been hitting the websites of the MSM outlets and...
sending e-mails pointing out that many of us are wise to the blackout they appear to be imposing on this issue.

There is very little mention of Rep. Kucinich's bill, and when there is, it's always followed by an editorial, "and, of course, it won't go anywhere." Move along, don't bother with this, nothing to see here.

:grr:

6. Riiight, because the crimes Dick Cheney has been accused of
couldn't possibly be seen as 'embarrassing' to the country. Neither could the fact the NYT lapped up and printed his lies in pounding the drums for war. Hypocrites.
