House Judiciary Subcommitte on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties
Once again, this is the subcommittee with jurisdiction over H Res 333. Let them know that Congressman Kucinich's resolution is not a partisian issue, but one of gravest Constitutional import.

The Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties shall have jurisdiction over the following subject matters: constitutional amendments, constitutional rights, federal civil rights, ethics in government, other appropriate matters as referred by the Chairman, and relevant oversight

3. Conyer's office told me they can't tolerate any more calls.
And it wasn't some kind of rude remark. This was a mature, kind woman who spent some real time with me.

She said Conyers is thinking, and doing the best that he knows for the people. And that we either trust him, or we don't. And I do. It sounds like an antidemocratic deal, but I think they've been barraged by a bunch of Americans who are really frantic about seeing justice served.

I don't know what else to say except that it probably isn't counterproductive to call, but probably not as productive as we would think.

4. Can't tolerate any more calls?
Even said politely, that sounds like a very inappropriate response to me. Isn't it their JOB to take our calls? I haven't called his office today, but I called yesterday and sent an email today.

9. Yes. Yes. You are right.
I was taken aback when they mentioned it, however politely.

Thank you. See, this is why I love DU. Combined, we make something bigger than just our selves.

It's a democracy. Damnit! :)

The question we face is why haven't they done anything?

lets let them know how the people really feel!

one final thought: I said this before in other posts. We need to be their backbone. Instead of jumping all over the Dem leaders when they cave, we need to take the positive action to let them know they are backed up by the people. I am certain beyond doubt, that the dem leaders are under massive pressure and likely physical threats to their well-being and loved ones. do you honestly think that people who would start a war based on lies and motivated by greed would hesitate to use any means of intimidation to quell opposition?

Un-circle the firing squad and let us stand shoulder to shoulder and take aim at the real enemy!

The moment is NOW! I can feel it. Believe it and keep it going!

17. Thanks for that
I agree that the only explanation for Dem Leadership's baffling refusal to act is that they have been personally threatened with something. Maybe they are threats against them or their families (who would investigate this?) or perhaps the threat of the swiftboat smear machine or perhaps revealation/exaggeration of some wrongdoing (maybe this is what they are doing with all the information they have obtained by warrantless spying).
