Rep. Conyers is the Chair of Judiciary, and Rep. Nadler is the Chair of the Constitution Subcommittee.

Dear Congressman Kucinich,

I want to thank you for speaking for all of us from the House floor. I thought this country was in trouble when the House impeached Bill Clinton. Now I see the failure to hold Bush and Cheney accountable for real crimes is much worse. Congress has demonstrated that our system fails us in its hour of greatest need. The only hope I see is people like you who are unafraid to speak for the people and against the real power in Washington. Please do not relent. You are in the right and you have the people behind you. Yesterday you became my choice for President.

Dear Congressman Kucinich,

I was informed today that you are interested in receiving letters supporting
impeachment. I'd like to add my personal support to this effort.

At twenty-two years of age, I look forward and do not see a bright future for
myself. This administration has so badly fouled up and sabotaged our country
that it will take decades to repair the damage. Mr. Cheney will not have to
carry that weight, nor will President Bush. It's going to fall upon my
generation to make amends for their crimes, and I would like to see them answer
for that.

This claim that the American people don't want to see impeachment is absurd. We
elected the Democrats into the majority last year in order to ensure drastic and
immediate change. I'd like the party take a firm stand on something, to
fight back instead of cowering every time the Republicans get bold. No more
turning a blind eye to crimes committed by our own government, no more wars over
lies and for resources. Enough is enough.

Thank you,

X

edited to add my e-mail to Representative (and hopefully the next President of the United States) Kucinich.

Dear Representative Kucinich:

Please add my voice to those who are trying to convince the Democratic leadership in the House to allow impeachment proceedings against Vice-President Dick Cheney to go forward.

Serious allegations have been made against VP Cheney. The American people deserve and demand that these charges be investigated thoroughly. If the allegations have merit, charges should be brought against him via the impeachment provisions outlined in the supreme law of our country, the Constitution.

Vice-President Cheney will have his opportunity to defend himself against the charges in the court of the Senate, just as every other accused citizen has an opportunity to defend him/herself in a court of law.

Sincerely,
1monster

Dear Representative Kucinich:

Your actions to finally bring H.R. 333 to the House floor are to be greatly commended. The House leadership must know that the majority of Americans desperately wish to uphold our Constitution and save our Republic. It is now the Judiciary Committee’s duty to investigate the many charges against this administration. I have always had the utmost respect for Congressman Conyers, but if the Democratic leadership tries to prevent him from going forth and continue to ignore their Constitutional duty, what is the point of having a Constitution? It will be forever rendered a worthless piece of paper. Let's hope there is justice ~ for us and for the rest of the world.

Again, thank you for your dedication to the people and our country.

Most sincerely,

"BEAR425"

43. My email to Pelosi through Dennis
My message to the Democratic Party leadership:

I wholeheartedly support full hearings on the articles of impeachment brought forth by Congressman Kucinich. This administration is acting as if it’s above the law of the land and the US constitution. Cheney (and Bush) must be impeached if our constitution and the rule of law are to mean anything. Please let the hearings begin. That’s all I ask! Do not let these impeachment resolutions sit on the table in the House Judiciary Committee.

Please know that much of the Party’s base will sit out the 2008 presidential election if full hearings on impeachment are not held. I proudly vote Democrat, but I’m starting to reconsider the value of voting for the ‘opposition party’ when all they do is enable the Bush administration to continue its rampage on the constitution, commit high crimes and escalate the war in Iraq and threaten war on Iran.

America deserves this debate. The Democratic Party can restore the electorate’s faith in our political system if it begins to show real backbone.

Sincerely,

57. my email
(with thanks to Altean Wanderer) taking off from yours and adding my own thoughts

To Representative Kucinich and the Democratic Party House Leadership:

I wholeheartedly support immediate hearings on the articles of impeachment brought forth by Congressman Kucinich. This administration has acted as if it’s above the law of the land and the US constitution for a long time. Cheney and Bush must be impeached now if our constitution and the rule of law are to survive. Please let the hearings begin immediately. Do not let these impeachment resolutions sit on the table in the House Judiciary Committee. And once hearings begin, don't let them carry on endlessly. Use them to quickly, clearly and concisely assemble and organize the already voluminous evidence of wrong-doing and get our team all on the same page. Then bring it to a vote in the House ASAP. It only takes a simple majority to impeach!

IT DOES NOT MATTER IF IT APPEARS NOW THAT THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH VOTES IN THE SENATE TO CONVICT!
The point is to hold these criminals accountable for their crimes against this nation and its constitution and the world. Let the Republican senators who will vote against conviction in the face of the overwhelming evidence deal with those votes in their next re-election bids. Let the Democratic Party be the ones who in the eyes of the country and the world had the courage to stand up and do the right thing.

I proudly vote Democrat, but I’m starting to reconsider the value of voting for the ‘opposition party’ when all they do is enable the Bush administration to continue its rampage on the constitution, commit high crimes, escalate the war in Iraq, and threaten war on Iran, while enriching their cronies beyond belief and simultaneously raising our national debt into the stratosphere. I believe that much of the Party’s base, as well as many disaffected moderate Republicans fed up with the radical direction of their party and looking for more responsible leadership, will want to sit out the 2008 presidential election if full hearings on impeachment are not held and soon.

Don't buy into the Republican propaganda machine line that the American people do not support impeachment or that taking such action will backfire on the Democratic Party in the next election. On the contrary, failure to perform the will of the people may very well cause a large scale lack of faith in the current political system and may even result in another 4 years of radical Republican rule or worse.

I further do not accept the lame excuse that pursuing impeachment against this criminal administration will detract from the ability to move other items on your agenda forward. That's like admitting you can't walk and chew gum at the same time. On the contrary, showing this outlaw administration you have the courage to stand up to them and hold them to account will free you to actually move forward with our agenda, rather than pointlessly submit bill after bill to be vetoed.

America deserves this debate and this action. The Democratic Party can restore the electorate’s faith in our political system if it begins to show real backbone.

Sincerely,

S.R.Frantz

PS I will be voting for Rep. Kucinich in the Pennsylvania Democratic party presidential primary, come hell or high water!

my mind has been so filled with outrage for so long, it was hard to know where to start. reading your email gave me a starting point to try to get my thoughts together. thanks!

thanks for understanding and appreciating my "expanding" was in no way meant to suggest any inadequacy on your part. (is that a "liberal" mode of thought or what? :) what would limpballs say? empathy: an unknown thought process on the right)

here is a link to email all members of the judiciary committee to start hearings immediately

http://www.democrats.com/topelosiandjudiciary

lets let them know how the people really feel!

one final thought: I said this before in other posts. We need to be their backbone. Instead of jumping all over them when they cave, we need to take the positive action to let them know they are backed up by the people. I am certain beyond doubt, that the dem leaders are under massive pressure and likely physical threats to their well-being and loved ones. do you honestly think that people who would start a war based on lies and motivated by greed would hesitate to use any means of intimidation to quell opposition?

Un-circle the firing squad and stand shoulder to shoulder and take aim at the real enemy!

50. K&R! My email:
To All of Congress,

Nothing is more important than protecting the U.S. Constitution. Our soldiers in Iraq are there because they swore an oath to protect the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. Not only do we have foreign enemies, but the most threatening ones our the domestic enemies in the Administration.

The Bush Administration, with the aid of a complicit Republican controlled congress have systematically undermined the U.S. Constitution, or "that God-damned piece of paper" as Bush calls it. The Bush administration has broken the law. They falsified intelligence and spoke direct lies to mislead Congress and the American people into an illegal war with Iraq. They are doing the same now with Iran. But these are just the beginning. Committing treason by outing a covert CIA officer and her covert anti-nuclear proliferation operation in the middle-east, violations of FISA, Illegally spying on Americans, illegally authorizing the use of torture which violates not only American law, but treaties we've signed with our allies and the international community, violating habeas corpus, which the Republican Congress last year voted to remove to backwards-legalize Bush's criminal activities.

Not only should Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, et al be Impeached immediately, they should be tried for Treason and then tried for War Crimes at the International Court.

51. Here's mine
Dear Senator Kucinich,

Please hand deliver my email urging immediate impeachment of Vice President Dick Cheney to Madam Speaker Pelosi.

Dear Madam Speaker Pelosi:

Any elected senator or congressman who takes the oath of office, swears to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America. In my opinion, and the opinion of countless other americans, including constitutional scholars, that means it is their duty to impeach not only Vice President Cheney, but also President Bush, for crimes committed since they have taken office.

It is illegal to lead America into a war under false pretences, and this has been proven to be the case. Any President or Vice President who knowingly breaks the laws of the Constitution must be impeached. If we do not impeach them, then our Constitution has become just another piece of paper.

Thank you for your time.

54. My letter

Dear Representative Kucinich,

I applaud you fine efforts for the American people in the matter of the impeachment of Vice President Dick Cheney.

I understand you are seeking emails to present to Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, to urge her to support impeachment of Mr. Cheney. Please let this note inform her of my urging that H.R.799 (H.R. 333) be supported by her and that impeachment proceedings go to the floor in an expedient manner. Please tell her that the American people want Dick Cheney impeached for crimes against the Constitution of the United States of America, and crimes against the laws of the U.N.. Please tell Ms. Pelosi that we are afraid for the future of the world if this criminal does not get reigned in immediately. Please tell Ms. Pelosi to act like the Democrat she claims to be and be strong in this urgent matter for the security of the people of the United States, for our CHILDREN and GRAND-CHILDREN, and for a safe and sane future of the planet.

Sincerely yours,

60. My E-Mail to Dennis Kucinich
Dear Congressman Kucinich,

Thank you for raising the issue of Impeachment. In my opinion, there is NO MORE IMPORTANT issue facing the country, today.

As much as I would love to see the Congress have the time to get our troops out of Iraq, or to put together a truly progressive Democratic agenda, those items have to TAKE A BACK SEAT to restoring the Constitutional balance of power that has been so badly disrupted by 7 years of the Bush presidency.

By lying us into an illegal war of choice, and then incompetently prosecuting that war, Mr. Bush, and Mr. Cheney, have committed “high crimes and misdemeanors,” and justice demands that they be held accountable for their actions.

But, more than that, a bright line needs to be drawn so that FUTURE PRESIDENTS – whether it is you, Hillary Clinton, or Rudy Guiliani – will know what actions will not be tolerated – even in the name of “keeping America safe from terrorism.”

I am a Democratic Precinct Captain in Arapahoe County, Colorado. Please let Democratic “leaders” like Speaker Pelosi, and Congressman Hoyer, know that we, at the grass roots, DEMAND that they either LEAD on the Impeachment issue, or GET OUT OF THE WAY!

YES!!! It is not possible to support HR333 MORE ARDENTLY than I do.

All those spineless, over-cautious Dems who worry that we ought to be dealing with other priorities are sadly mistaken. THERE IS NO OTHER PRIORITY. From THIS, ALL other things will come, and will be more successfully undertaken if we remove the biggest clot in the arteries.

PLEASE try to convince Nancy Pelosi that you do NOT reward bad behavior - in a willfully arrogant and disobedient child OR in a politician! As a mother and grandmother, she ought to know that already. It would also send a very clear signal that the Democrats actually DO stand for something and actually DO have backbone.

We need to do this for our country, for our Constitution (what's left of it) and for our future!!!

IMPEACH Cheney. And yes, IMPEACH Bush, also.

75. my missive
Dennis,

Please pass this on to Conyers, to whom I sent money.

I am trying to understand the position of Conyers and Pelosi, et al,
but I don't know their dark secrets. Dark secrets or not, their trajectory
is a failed one. Now is the time to sacrifice life and limb (or career and
wealth) to impact the course of history.

Nothing is more important at this time than to expose and create a public
ground swell for impeachment proceedings against Cheney. In that regard,
there must be a debate. I, like many, are sick and tired of our congress reps
working for themselves, and not their constituents. The excuses presented by
Dem leaders to not proceed are transparent - fear for their careers, the party,
are root factors of their resistance. I am not paying them to be self-serving
or short-sighted. Do they not see the forest for the trees?

In my mind, preserving the constitution is paramount.
Hence, impeachment debates and proceedings are needed.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
, Los Angeles

84. 70th Rec and here is my letter
The Honorable Dennis Kucinich,

I am so disappointed in the rest of your caucus failing to support your quest for upholding our laws and constitution including my Rep Jane Harmon. The Vice President and I believe the President of our country have done us so much harm by their reckless disregard for the truth and the laws both national and international This is a total disgrace for our country.

As a Soldier for twenty years in the US Army, I am so ashamed and dismayed about our country's abandonment of its most basic obligations under our Constitution, international law and certainly the Geneva Convention. I feel that the Vice presidents office was complicit in an act of treason the outing of a covert CIA Agent Valery Plame and other violations of their oaths of office.
When will this stop? As an active member of the Democratic Party I am truly disappointed as well with the miserable lack of leadership from Pelosi and Hoyer there should be no higher priority for the congress than upholding the laws of our land and oversight of our nations policies and actions on these issues.

I applaud you for your leadership in trying to right the wrongs of the Bush administration and bring justice back into the light of our constitutional process.
Sincerely,
My Name
USA, RET

99. For what it's worth ...
Here's my contribution:

Dear Congressman Kucinich:

I strongly support the immediate impeachment of both Vice President Richard Cheney and President George Bush. I thank you for having the courage to take the initial steps required to remove these criminals from office.

The record here is quite clear. This administration has violated Federal law under the dubious and dangerous pretense that in times of war a President and his administration are not bound by the law. At the same time, they tell us that this supposed "war" on terrorism will never end. Thus, they have turned our democratic republic into a dictatorship while the supposed opposition party, our party, the Democratic Party, protests feebly and does nothing to bring these criminals to justice and restore the checks and balances that sustain our democracy.

You, Sir, have finally made our party leaders face their shameful cowardice. You have brought the issue to a head and forced our party leaders to make a choice on the record. They must either choose to fight tyranny openly, or, as they are likely to do, shamefully refuse to stand up to tyranny and just hope it goes away while they focus their attention elsewhere. Please invite our party leaders to remember the lesson of Neville Chamberlain. It is extremely dangerous to rely on one's faith that tyranny will ever "just go away." In order to preserve democracy, tyranny must be resisted at every turn.

Even if, as is likely, Cheney can not be removed from office because we lack the votes in the Senate to do it, would it not be better to show the American people that the Democratic Party will stand up and fight for America, for its most cherished ideals, even if doing so is costly in political terms? Even if Cheney can not be removed from office, is it not better to fight for what's right and lose than to condone what is wrong by refusing to fight it? These are questions I hope you can make the leadership answer, on the record. Their answers should tell us, very clearly, whether new party leadership is needed.

In any event, I thank you for doing the right thing. I wish you happiness and much success.

-Laelth

There is amble evidence to suggest wrongdoing has occurred at the highest levels of our government. 104. My letter...BTW, DK's website says to send them to impeachment@kucinich.us
Maybe info@dennis4president.com works too; just passing along what I saw at http://www.dennis4president.com/home/ .

Anyway, here's what I wrote:
To Rep. Kucinich and the Democratic leaders in the U.S. House:

I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that the only solution to the current Administration's disregard for the rule of law is impeachment.

The beauty of the American system of government is that no individual or group can take precedence over the U.S. Constitution. However, the current Administration has placed itself above the constitution by a) willfully lying our nation into an illegal war, b) ignoring statutes passed by Congress by means of prevaricating "signing statements," and c) violating U.S. and international law by endorsing the use of torture, imprisonment without trial, and "rendition" to secret prisons operated by despots.

Fortunately, our Constitution provides the tools to deal with outlaw Administrations: impeachment. It is the duty of our elected representatives to use this tool to defend the Constitution and the American system of governance "against all enemies, foreign and domestic."

Therefore, the Democratic Congressional leadership must immediately undertake hearings on the articles of impeachment introduced by Congressman Kucinich. Vice President Cheney and President Bush are not above the law, and they must be impeached quickly to preserve the Constitution and the legal underpinnings upon which it rests.

The evidence of illegal activity by this Administration is manifold and clear cut. Remember -- to impeach requires only a simple majority. If it seems there are not enough votes to convict, that is of no consequence. What's right is right.

We must bring these criminals to account for their crimes against America, our Constitution, and the citizens of the world. Will the Democratic Party have the courage to defend the rule of law and take a stand against the Imperial Presidency of George W. Bush? Will our Democratic leadership have the guts to force Republicans to take a public stand on what to do about this Administration's crimes?

I have been voting since 1972, and I am a strong supporter of Democratic candidates, with my votes, my time, and my dollars. But the recent disturbing tendency of my party to cave in and cower in fear as the Republicans run roughshod over the Constitution, our rights, and domestic and international law frankly has me worried about the future of the Democratic Party and indeed the American republic. What is there to fear? Even the craven argument that we don't want to alienate the public by veering "too far to the left" makes no sense, since the vast majority of Americans think the Bush Administration lied us into the war against Iraq and want to see it end as soon as possible.

The world is watching, and history is recording for posterity the actions of the 110th Congress. Please stand up to the current batch of radicals in the White House who have perverted the American system to serve their own selfish ends. Anything less will destroy America's faith in our democracy.

Show this Administration that you will not put up with their illegal conduct any longer. Demand that they abide by the rule of law. Only then will it be possible for this Congress to make any real progress on the many issues facing us as a nation.

We are watching. We are listening. Do your duty.

Bush, with the intent of removal from the offices of vice president and president, respectively, should take place."

Madame Speaker:

I am a California constituent and a lifelong Democrat. I know that no one will
ever read lengthy messages, so I will keep it short:

For the love of God what is it going to take for you and the rest of my party in Congress to impeach Dick Cheney?

In the past 7 years I have gone from being a politically-engaged citizen to being someone who virtually despairs of my nation ever being able to pull back from the brink of literal fascism, with a complete abrogation of Constitutionally-guaranteed civil liberties I have taken for granted my entire life.

I love my country. You and other Democrats were sent to Congress in order to save us from the Bush-Cheney administration. They are not "mistaken" nor are they "conservative" -- they are radical and they are evil.

I ask you again: For the love of God what is it going to take for you and the rest of my party in Congress to impeach Dick Cheney?

here's what i wrote:

To Whom It May Concern:

Impeachment of Dick Cheney should be a pressing and important concern amongst all of OUR elected representatives (remember, you work for us and we pay your salaries). The American people SUPPORT YOU ON THIS if it is something that you have the courage to undertake. We may be often times naive or easily led but we know petty politics when we see it and we know a necessary course of action. The impeachment proceedings of President Clinton were petty politics. The potential (and essential) impeachment of the Vice President is a necessary course of action. I am tired of hearing the excuses, that it will take up too much time, that there are more important things at hand, other bills and issues to debate and pass, etc.

But that's exactly what all of these are, excuses. What needs to happen is we need to finally say enough is enough, to assert boldly that NOBODY is above the law and to let this country and the whole world know that America is better than this. That America recognizes lawlessness when it sees it and punishes it appropriately. I don't want to hear about what is politically expedient. We voted you into power in 2006 for CHANGE, not more of the same. No more rubber stamps, no more political quid pro quo, it is time to DO THE RIGHT THING for the sake of doing the right thing.

There is still much time left before a new president takes office for the damage caused to this country and this planet to multiply exponentially. There is still great potential for America to further slide along the downward spiral. Stop it while you can. Impeach. When you stand up and make your case before all the world and truths are spoken and the crimes of this administration are given full light, your support will be endless.

Until these actions are taken, I will refuse to donate the the DCCC or the DSCC. I will only donate to candidates, incumbents or not, who support impeachment as the next logical step in stopping this administration.

You cannot kill a tree by picking off some leaves and lopping off some branches - you need to cut it down from where it grows.

Sincerely,
One of those "hard working middle class average Americans" that everybody loves to talk about standing up for,

Mark414

Dear Congressman Kucinich,
You are the only candidate for President who seems to care that the
people currently 'in charge' of our country have been very busy trying to destroy
the Constitution upon which this country was founded.
It is a profound loss for the soul of this country and will take years to undo.
The first step we must take to remedy the treasonous theft of our freedoms
is to find out who is responsible and then hold them accountable, on the record, so
that no future President will be able to cite "precedence" as an excuse for all sorts
of inhumane and illegal behaviors.
Thank you for having the conviction to push forward with this necessary and
overdue action. You are now the voice of millions of Americans who love our country
and want to see it restored to its once-great brilliance.

Dear Congressman Kucinich,

I would like to thank you for introducing a resolution calling for the impeachment of Dick Cheney. You are to be highly congratulated for your willingness to take this courageous and necessary action, even in a political climate which promises very little support from your fellow Democrats. I support this action and applaud your principled leadership.

You are my choice for President in 2008, and once again, you have shown why there is really no competition. For truly progressive Democrats, it's all Dennis, all the time.

Sincerely,

-----

Dear Congressman Kucinich and the Democratic House Leadership:

I am writing in support of the impeachment of Vice President Richard B. Cheney. The most important duty of any public servant is to uphold and defend the Constitution, and therefore it is your duty to hold this administration accountable for its many crimes.

Vice President Cheney willfully and recklessly lied about the threat of Iraqi weapons and the illusory link between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda. These lies have resulted in over 3800 deaths of American service members and Iraqi deaths that number in the hundreds of thousands, at the very least. Worse yet, now Vice President Cheney is once again calling for war on shaky grounds, this time against Iran.

Whether or not there are enough votes in the Senate to convict Vice President Cheney is irrelevant. At the very least, the American public, and indeed the world, deserve to hear of this administration's grave misdeeds.

Sincerely,

X

my brief email

Speaker Pelosi,

In all honesty, I'm not sure what you're looking at to not see that an honorable man like Congressman Kucinich has it right! The Bush Administration has violated numerous statutes and Dennis is right in seeking the impeachment of Vice President Dick Cheney for his role in the US Attorney scandal, his closed door meetings with the energy giants in 2001, his role in the outing of CIA Undercover Operative Valerie Plame, and other issues that Rep. Kucinich will address.

I encourage you, strongly, to read or discuss Dennis' findings if you are unaware of the constitutional laws that Cheney has broken.

It's time for Cheney to go. He has single handedly ruined this country for the time being. The insane war against Iraq, the stupid quest for competitive oil rather than collaborative research for alternatives, and his advancement of the "war on terror" as a cover for the evisceration of the Constitution all qualify him for impeachment. You are on of the very few Democrats in this state who behaves like a Democrat. Let's get the job done and get rid of Cheney. The guy is a menace.

Dear Mr. Kucinich,

I wish to add my voice to those who support initiating impeachment inquiries into the activities of the Vice President and President.

Adequate probable cause exists to justify these inquiries. They have all but admitted their criminal conduct.

And it is ongoing.

Impeachment is the only course of action that can stop them. They will not police themselves, they don't even understand why they should have to.

Thank you for your leadership on this and many other issues.

Sincerely,

Dear Denis,

Thank you! Thank you for your courage to do the right thing. I am glad to learn there are still people at the top who aren't completely bought. Unfortunately, there are too few. The temptations to live a fat cat lifestyle by swindling the American people seems to have become an art form. I am sure that this "democracy" is not the Democratic Republic that the original founders invisioned. In fact, they felt that the legislative branch would be the most powerful, hence the division of two branches. They were quite aware of tyranny from King George (hmm funny how there's another on the throne now). They never wanted one sole person to usurp powers and rule the land as the only one that matters.

So, 200 + yrs later we have secrets in every corner we look. Civil liberties have been stripped and stomped on. Illegal searches and seisures of American people's in common (travel on an airplane lately). As well, we pay astronomical taxes, without one say as to where it will be spent. War and bridges in Alaska to no where (uneccesary pork). I say give any average person who needs to balance his/ her own check book every week, a job creating spending bills. It would be trimmed down nice and neat with a little left over for that special occassion.

Anyway, as you know, there is much that is wrong with this govt. But I believe with hard work and determination we can bring it back to beginning. Start with the constitution and uphold it. That means Impeaching this entire administration and allowing the international courts to try them for crimes against humanity. They belong in the Hague. WE are the country using weapons of mass destruction. WE are the country that is subjecting individuals to rendition and torture. WE are the country that is illegally spying on its citizens. And unless the Bush Co. criminal regime is brought down, I do not like where we are headed. As of right now, we have two ways, history proves, we as a nation go... We either unite and uphold the contstitution, or we continue to divide which will result in civil war. IMPEACH THEM ALL. CHENEY FIRST.

Good Luck, the Universe allows for free will, I refuse to allow King George to take mine. I am not affraid, for this is only one piece of my journey,

Congressman Kucinich and Congresswoman Baldwin,

I cannot find the words to express how strongly I approve of this action. Impeachment should not only be "on the agenda", it should BE the agenda.
Until this administration is held accountable to the law, they will continue to flaunt the law and act unilaterally. Why this fact is so difficult for the democratic leadership to grasp is frustrating beyond belief.

Upholding the constitution should be the most important item in the remaining and please remind the Speaker that it is the sworn duty of the members.

Thank you both,

155. Perhaps I am insane
I don't have to list the offenses, they are obvious. I have never seen a greater need for impeachment, not in my life, and never in the history of this country. I fear this administration and the ones beyond it, falling into complete tyranny, without much of the public even recognizing it. Congress is all too concerned about the next election cycle, rather than serving our country and all of humanity. During this critical time, the officials, many of them Democrats, have record low numbers because they fail to recognize their purpose and reason for being elected.

This was supposed to be the group of people to get us out of Iraq, not into Iran, and to hold the executive accountable for crimes matching those of dictators around the world. These cowardly politicians worry about being slandered by the media rather than performing their duty, the oath they took when being elected, to defend the Constitution:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

Therefore, it is in clear violation of law for them NOT to impeach. By condoning the acts of this vice president and president, they are themselves accountable and complicit in the crimes of torture, crimes of war by all international and ethical standards, and possibly even greater crimes that we fail to even investigate. It was after all, members of Congress that stood in the way of the Patriot Act who were sent letters containing anthrax in the months following 9/11. Have we reached a level of insanity where no one even bothers to think of the implications of letting this group of scoundrels continue to run this government? Have we completely forgotten what it means to be a patriot? Have we lost our minds?

I have repeatedly attempted to contact members of my own district, and I have received the form letters, the ridiculous reasons for not wanting to impeach, the implied patronization and utter disrespect in not even engaging me in conversation. What am I to do?

Please help us, so help you God.

one final thought: I said this before in other posts. We need to be their backbone. Instead of jumping all over the Dem leaders when they cave, we need to take the positive action to let them know they are backed up by the people. I am certain beyond doubt, that the dem leaders are under massive pressure and likely physical threats to their well-being and loved ones. do you honestly think that people who would start a war based on lies and motivated by greed would hesitate to use any means of intimidation to quell opposition?

Un-circle the firing squad and let us stand shoulder to shoulder and take aim at the real enemy!

The moment is NOW! I can feel it. Believe it and keep it going!

Here's my message to Congressman Kunicich:

Dear Congressman Kucinich,

Count me among the many who want the criminals impeached!

My grandma was a suffragette. Grandpa was a newspaper man, as was his father and grandfather. My dad fought the real Axis powers and my mom worked for the USO to help support troops. They all knew that an informed, voting, engaged population was the last defense of our beloved nation. My family knows that we ALL must stand as defenders of our nation. Duty to country trumps short-term self interests. We want Congress to understand that important value!

Dick Cheney lied us into war and has made us the most hated nation on the planet. His policies have weakened our military and put our nation in debt for generations. His privatization agenda has put our military personnel and all American workers at peril. We are not safer.

Dick Cheney, through his puppet, George W. Bush, has usurped dictatorial powers and defied the Congress, therefore, the American people and the U.S. Constitution. Democracy is not safer.

We The People demand his removal from office!

Thank you for your courageous stand. Thank you for standing in defense of this nation against her most serious threat, the domestic enemy known as Dick Cheney.

We are deeply grateful that you have given us voice by initiating impeachment proceedings against
this administration. There is nothing more important and foundational than the U.S. Constitution
and the Bill of Rights, and the Congress of the United States has nothing more important to
do than to defend it against the continued assaults by the Bush/ Cheney administration. Please
do your duty and bring the rest of the Congress on board as soon as possible.

We are deeply moved and supportive of your actions. Why is it that so few of our Congresspersons
are defending the Constitution? I had thought that they had all taken vows to do so. Please remind
them of this!
