I seen these sentiments expressed today:

Comment: "The Democratic Party is a failure."

Q: Why are you here?

Comment: "Petitions are BS, they don't work."

Q: Kucinich is collecting e-mails to present to Pelosi, are you going to respond?

Comment: "Show that you are a leader, get your colleagues in line."

Q: Is Kucinich not a leader because he can't get the other Democrats to join him?

1. Okay, here it goes.
Comment: "The Democratic Party is a failure."

Q: Why are you here?

ANSWER: It is not so much that the party is a failure. The party's job it primarily to win elections and it has doing that rather well lately. Also, I don't think our D. governor, sec. of state, Ohio A.G. or treasurer are failures at all. My concern is that the Congressional Ds. are afraid to uphold the Constitution and to exercise any oversight on an out-of-control executive.

Q: Kucinich is collecting e-mails to present to Pelosi, are you going to respond?

ANSWER: Respond to what? No one has asked me for anything this year except for $$$ and that well is closed.

Q: Is Kucinich not a leader because he can't get the other Democrats to join him?

ANSWER: That's a judgment call. I'm not a big fan of the leadership principle. I just think the first duty of any elected official or any official at all is to the Constitution.

2. Hmmmm
1. Nowhere else to be. But I don't think the Democratic Party is a failure.

2. I am probably not; this is a stunt (an effective one) by Kucinich to revive his flagging campaign, and the participation of our buddies on the right troubles me.

3. That's the definition of not being a leader.

Not quite "The Democratic Party is a failure," but maybe "The Democratic Party is presently failing."

And I'm here to try to help it stop. :)

As for the last, leaders don't necessarily "get their colleagues in line" - but over time they help to educate the people of a nation and move the prevailing outlook forward. Few Democratic "leaders" do anything even approaching that, aside from DK.

5. Is it possible to support individual Democrats while also thinking the party is run by nitwits?
