3. By tradition and prior experience,
The end of the Bull Market is signaled by a bull pasted on the cover of Time Magazine.

By the time those imbeciles realize there's a bull market, it's over.

$9 trillion in debt;
Lowest dollar value ever;
Highest energy costs ever;
and, the whole world just praying for America (not to be confused with Americans) to fail ...

and, yeah, you're probably right ... we are all screwed (well, not 'all', the handful of uber wealthy and multinationals protected by the 'Bush/Cheney' condom will do just fine, thank you very much).

8. Bra-ziiiiil…
Where hearts were entertained in June
We stood beneath an amber moon,
And softly murmured 'Some day soon'
Return, I will, to old Bra-ziiiiiiil!

Hubby and I are not part of the investor class so your post doesn't pertain to us, but I'm still curious as I see/hear this a lot: what does "if you are long" mean?

on edit: fixed the typo in your handle! And TIA.

17. Being "long" means you have bought stocks,
hoping to sell them at a higher price later. This is typical in an "up" market. Being "short" means you have sold stocks you don't actually have and will be required to actually buy them later, hopefully at a lower price. This is what you do if you think the market is going down. At least that is my understanding.

19. It's also the source of the phrase...
"to sell yourself short," meaning "to show a lack of confidence in yourself."
