Say what you will about Giuliani, but the guy sure has broad appeal
at least among the lunatic fringe(s).

He is endorsed by the world's nuttiest Christian, Pat Robertson, and the world's nuttiest Atheist, Chris Hitchens.

Obviously the Apocalypse is just around the corner.

1. If Robertson and Hitchens endorsed him he must be the AntiChrist.
Or maybe the Whore of Babylon with NYC as Babylon.

3. Isn't there something in the bible about lambs lying with wolves?
Although in this case it is very difficult to tell which is which; they are both more weasel than anything else.

4. Ya know I almost changed that to "wide".
But then I thought no, the context will carry it. I should know better by now...:+

18. If you are referring to females with the "broad" statement
He's my sister's choice at the moment. Even though she's icked out about the Robertson endorsement.

I think the only thing that would change her mind might be Al Gore.

22. I fail to see the appeal for Democrats. The Ghoul is a fascist after all.
And Democrats usually don't support fascists. Have your sister read THIS telling account and see if she still thinks he is fit to be president. (note the comment on sleep deprivation)

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/10/25/in-his-own-words-giuliani-on-torture/index.html?ref=politics

Anybody who would "skate" around the question of whether waterboarding is torture and who would compare a late night on the campaign trail to using sleep deprivation in interrogating suspects clearly cannot be trusted to follow the Geneva Conventions on the torture question.

She is leaning towards the dark side, however. I will bring up the torture issue. Thanks for the link.

6. I think Robertson needs to be in Gitmo
I saw on a segment on CNN last night he predicted another massive terra attack before the new year. He didn't know if it would be nuclear but thought millions might die. What if that's a coded message to his extremists. I'm more afraid of a Robertson acolyte that works at say, a Bio-weapons lab or nuclear plant going batshit then any of Osamas cronies. Osama already won, this country is literally tearing itself apart.

I find it funny that despite all the rantings by theologians the god most people worship is still the Bronze Age invisible man in the sky that throws thunderbolts at His enemies.

8. Giuliani must be promising all things to all people. If
both Hitchens who is a devout athiest and Robertson who is a nut job evangelist endorse him somebody is going to get burned. Right now, Giuliani is tiptoeing though the repub graveyard hoping no one will notice his liberal positions on social issues. His appealing to 911 will carry him just so far, sooner or later his views will come home to roost.

16. Yep. I've heard him say it in person with my own ears more than once
When he spoke at the FFRF convention last month, he not only endorsed the Ghoul, but advocated for genocide against the Arab world.

I really don't like that Hitchens is out there being representative of Atheists.

25. Despite all the dissing of his chances on DU, he has faced virtually no criticism since 9/11
Rudy has been almost deified by the media since 9/11.

Has anybody in the mainstream media outside of Olbermann even mildly criticized Giuliani? If you didn't watch Olbermann, you might think the guy walked on water, and was flying through the air with a red cape on his back and an S on his chest on 9/11.

31. I think Giuliani will be the "anointed one". Eventually
we will learn that Rove is working for him in some capacity, albeit behind the scenes and unofficially. If Cheney should step down in the near future, look for Bush to choose Rudy as his VP. Then it will be up to the Dems to block his confirmation in the Congress. Yeah, right.

Robertson endorses Giuliani, Weyrich endorses Romney, Dobson says stop the madness, vote third party
Nov 7, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 11/07/2007 1:34:34 PM PST by Jim Robinson

Robertson endorses Giuliani, Weyrich endorses Romney, Dobson says stop the madness, vote third party. Limbaugh sits on the sidelines but appears to be willing to accept the worst without so much as a whimper. This is what happens when a conservative party loses its way. Conservatism takes a back seat to liberalism. Conservative leaders start endorsing pro-abort liberals and RINOs because they're "electable." Conservatives flee to third parties or stay home in disgust. The party self-destructs.

!0, 9, 8, 7, 6...

33. That's just it, I don't think he would be better than Bush.
He poses as the great moderate of the Republican party but in time I think he will be exposed as just another right wing extremist. He had to seem moderate or even liberal to get elected Mayor of New York City, but now that he's running for President his constituency has changed, and so will his positions on the issues. He is the ultimate opportunist with no real core values. Some would say like Hillary, although I would not. No, I wouldn't.
