received many favorable responses. It's a 'moms' group and we usually politely keep away from politics and religion, but one Mom this morning asked "What is wrong with our world?". I guess it was in reaction to the recalls, the crime rates (especially in Philly). Soooo, I broke our unspoken rule about not discussing politics and just blurted it out. Here's what I sent. I think I managed to cover quite a bit in the 2 middle paragraphs :) I've been REALLY surprised at all the favorable responses - from red states, blue states, and ex-pats. I told the ones who have thanked me for speaking up about DU, so we may get a few new members.

--------------

The only thing I can think is that when the criminals are running the asylum, the loonies are on the loose. That about sums up the world situation right now.

I'm refering to the 'compassionate conservatives' in DC who are dismantling our Constitution and Bill of Rights piece by piece, have neutered the Congress and the Supreme Court, keep asking for additional billions
to kill/maim and displace Iraqis and our soldiers, keep granting tax relief for big pharma and oil cronies, but veto a children's health care bill (equivalent to 1 month of war expenses) and expansion of veteran's benefits. Who cut - yet again - emergency funding for home heating oil and utility expenses for our elderly this winter. Who fund the schools (NCLB) only if they agree to turn our kids names over to the military for recruitment purposes. Who are trying to lie us into another war - this time with Iran - who doesn't have nukes yet, while protecting their friend Musharif in Pakistan, who has has been harboring the Taliban, Al Qaeda and Bin Ladin, declared martial law and actually has nukes already.

Oh yeah, and this mail message is being filtered thru the NSA room at AT&T that vacuums ALL domestic AND foreign internet and phone traffic thru the NSA system - 2.5 Gigabites of data a second - regardless of what carrier you use. The reason you see no lag time is that the equipment is making an exact duplicate of the signal and analyzing the duplicate.

Can you tell I'm disgruntled and totally disgusted. Don't look for this stuff on the first page of the paper or the headlines on the news shows - the NSA item was in the Business section of the paper today - other stuff can only be found going directly to AP or Reuters, not mainstream media outlets. There's a ton more - it makes your head spin.

2. Good for you!
Sometimes you just have to speak the truth instead of keeping quiet.
