I've resolved to do my holiday shopping online this year

so far it's working very well. Since I gave up driving I'm going to let the usps and ups delivery everything I need to my door this year. I don't intend to give a dime to any mart, be it walmart, kmart, jmart, target, any of them.
I'm so damn unamerikan.

I normally buy about 50-plus gifts for people in a local comedy theater. This year I found some jute shopping bags...you know, the reusable kind that everybody says you should use? That the supermarkets are now reluctantly selling?

Turns out the person who sold them wanted to do something ecological, found someone to make the bags, and had them mass-produced. Before the supermarkets caught on. Now the poor lady is stuck with some 7000 of the bags. I'm glad I could take 60 of them off her hands, although it would have cost less to just buy up that many from the local supermarket.
