U.S. fears Israeli strike against Iran
I wonder if they're 'fearing' with a straight face. :eyes:

U.S. fears Israeli strike against Iran.

The U.K. Times reports that military sources in Washington fear that Iran’s nuclear development may precipitate an Israeli attack. “The Pentagon is reluctant to take military action against Iran, but officials say that Israel is a ‘different matter.’ … Concern about Israel’s intentions has been heightened by its recent air strike on a suspected nuclear plant in Syria.” Meanwhile, “U.S. defense officials have signaled that up-to-date attack plans are available if needed in the escalating crisis over Iran’s nuclear aims.”

10. The article says "military sources"
The Pentagon may very well have more sense about this (geez, never in my life did I think I'd defend the Pentagon).

3. Good thing its entire fleet of F-15Is is grounded
I don't care what you say about the F-16, the Eagle can carry a heavier payload father.

I doubt Israel would launch a strike only with F-16Is.

4. We need Israel to bomb Iran.
That way we won't have to ask Congress for permission and we won't have to find evidence to invade.

5. fearing an Israeli attack on Iran??? Who they tryin' to kid?
If they are, it is because Vader and the rest of his Neo-convicts want to be the first to start bombing Iran instead.

6. I can see Israel attacking Syria because they have a weak
military and the US will NOT have to jump in to support them. It's a totally different situation with Iran that has a strong military and most important, missiles. We would definitely have to jump in to save Israel.

7. What a load of bullshit.
This is, more likely, just a convenient way to create a scapegoat. I am sure it will be eaten up with a spoon by both extremes of the political spectrum.

11. Since Israel bombed Iraq in 1981 and Syria recently, I'd say it's plausible.

8. This has been the known pretext for beginning the war since its planned inception

Israel attacks.

Iran retaliates.

US says we are FORCED to have to protect our ally, Israel, & the populace reluctantly agrees.

Voila - WWIII

18. Yep!
We've seen that script here many, many times. FORCED being the operative word... FORCED to take action without benefit of Congressional approval.

12. Congress needs to tell Israel, in no uncertain terms, that.............
if they attack Iran they are completely on their own and will get zero support from the US.
Oh yeah, right. Like that could possibly happen.

17. Back door strategy to get US military in a war with Iran...
I've read stories stating Pentagon brass are against starting a war with Iran. But if Israel started one, there may be no other choice than to join in since an Israeli attack on Iran may spur attacks on US occupiers in Iraq and elsewhere...
