Ohio.
Remember the problem of not having enough voting booths on election day 2004 in Ohio in the mostly Dem/black areas? It produced such long lines, so many could not vote at all. Folks if that problem has not been fixed, I don't see how our frontrunner( whomever it shall be) will win, no matter what when the day comes. Does anyone have any info about anything that has changed to rectify the situation?

1. They had a good trial run for voting yesterday in Cuyahgoa County...
although it took them longer to get the count done, it was still done by 10:00 the next day...

I know the new director and she is very competent, very committed to taking the right approach...

The lack of voting machines was predominately in Franklin County and I don't think that will be a problem this time...

More people are voting absentee now since the state made it easier starting with the 2006 election...

Some local races had 25-30% absentees...

The problem at the college was the students who normally voted at home or via absentee in 2004, got involved locally and stayed on campus to vote...

They should have handled that better, but I don't think that will be a problem this time around...

2. You can help ... do you live in Ohio?
Call the Ohio Democratic party and say you would like to help in
voter protection. I did in 2006 .... we checked back in @ every polling
place. And If you see the slightest hint of a problem we can get a lawyer
there in under 1/2 an hour. Also you can work for a local running
for congress and check up on the polls that way too. (It is called 'running polls)

In 2004 I was way too nice as "they" were stealing "it." I had heard from
the state Kerry HQ that nationally it was a landslide .... so I let the one
precinct I was working @ off on some little stuff cause I figured it did
not matter ..... later when I did try to call the protection line it was
blocked .... In 2006 my answer to just about any problem by an election
person who was trying to fuck w/ things was .... "the lawyer is on his way."
