Keith is talking about Aqua Dots.

When swallowed, the adhesive becomes the "date rape" drug.

One of Bush's fucked up cronies let this shit into our country.

I wish I could say "tipping point."
But there never seem to be any tipping points with the GOP. Any heinous crime is just another to be promoted away, move on, nothing to see here. These people are pathologically criminal.

1. The job of a regulatory agency is to regulate
and frankly, yes, to be a Royal Pain in the Ass for business and industry, not be their best buddies.

20. They thought it would be faster and more profitable
if they just let the business class regulate itself

2. Who's great idea was it to inform everyone..
That it was similar, or the same, as the date rape drug?

Why not just say it was poisonous?

8. Yes, but announcing that when eaten it metabolizes into GHB
will cause a run for it.

They should have just said "poison".

15. I checked earlier today and eBay still had auctions open for the US version of the toy
Tonight they are marked as "closed" so they must have gotten pulled at some point this afternoon.

Not sure about the stores though.

Can imagine a teenage kid taking his/her little sister/brother's birthday present "for use at a later time" though.

16. I hear you but they did the same thing
with some drugs and cough medicines etc. At least it was off the
shelves at my local CVS, the day I heard about them being recalled.

Not the meat though!! :puke: It's all very scary!

I'm really glad I don't have small kids anymore!

22. Tell me about it.
I got caught in the ground beef Cargill thing. Nice to let us know on 11/3 that beef from 10/19 to 11/3 was contaminated. I cooked up a pound of taco meat with 11/1 beef from the contamination ring.

Good news is that with eColi, the "effects" only last for 3 days. It was a LONG, disgusting weekend.

14. Oh, I don't know. I guess I am just making it up.
For the same reason you have to ask the pharmacist for anything containing pseudoephedrine because it was widely reported to be the best way of cooking off meth and people were buying it by the truckloads.

Read a paper once in a while.

Don't be surprised if a lot of these "toys" mysteriously end up in large stockpiles at fraternity houses.

4. Tell you when
when the American people, not you and me, we are already akake... finally come out of the slumber, reach for the pitchforks, and go at it

Look, there was a national strike on Tuesday, which as usual was an utter failure.

That tells me all I need to know

11.  Tells me all I need to know too
I heard about the national strike or general strike on the Malloy show .

Perhaps if liberal radio would have all gotten with the program something would have happened , perhaps not .

I have come to the conclusion it's every person for themselves these days .

As hard as I try I just can't imagine people sticking together to do a strike or end this war or anything else for that matter .

I can't really say I believe people have woken up or are really concerned about the war or the economy until it affects them then they focus on themselves .

I don't feel people for the most part care about Iraq or all the lies and money spent as long as they find their safe spot .

17. DU is blind too. This post earlier today went unanswered:
Have our eyes failed us, or have we failed our eyes?

"Yes. I have tricks in my pocket. I have things up my sleeve. But I am the opposite of a stage magician. He gives you illusion that has the appearance of truth. I give you truth in the pleasant disguise of illusion.

"To begin with, I turn back time. I reverse it to that quaint period, the thirties, when the huge middle class of America was matriculating in a school for the blind. Their eyes had failed them. Or they had failed their eyes. And so they were having their fingers pressed forcibly down on the fiery braille alphabet of a dissolving economy. In Spain there was revolution. Here there was only shouting and confusion. In Spain there was Guernica..."

Tennessee Williams, The Glass Menagerie

Not before. Why should it? They are still profiting from what they are doing.
