Donations are sought to bring them home for Christmas.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Gov. Brad Henry on Friday asked Oklahomans to donate money to help bring more than 2,600 members of the 45th Infantry Brigade back to the state for Christmas.

Henry and other officials are hoping to raise $600,000 to pay for 60 buses and meals that will allow members of the brigade to return from Fort Bliss, Texas, where they are training in preparation for a January deployment to Iraq.

The soldiers have 10 days of leave from Dec. 23 to Jan. 2. The buses will pick up and return the soldiers to Texas from locations around the state.
