Fl. college. They're talking about "Politics and the English Language" and how the Pubs have used it sooo much better than the Dems! My God, it's TRUE and scary as hell!

One of the panelists explained why Shrub uses the term "War on Terror" so many times in a sentence! How specific words a triggers in the human brain! The Pubs are very adept at picking trigger language for their ideas, and the Dems pick things like "SCHIP"! SCHIP sounds like "V CHIP" which is something you want to use to keep your children away fron something!

I have no idea if it replays at any time, but if it does, it's well worth the watch! All it says on my TV program is that it's part of the Miami Book Fair.

1. The Reps had a guy by the name of Frank Luntz (he has a book out now) who

was a MASTER at 'turning a phrase', so to speak. He could turn something frightening - global warming - into something more palatable - climate change. He's despicable IMHO.

I'd love to find a list of his before and afters, it's breathtaking how he totally transforms the REAL meaning behind the words.

Edit to add a couple more examples:

"oil drilling" has become "deep sea energy exploration"

Logging and mowing down our forests has become "healthy forests initiative"

I found an entire website devoted to this jerk's dastardly works:

3. "What Orwell didn't know" is the name of the book they're discussing.

It's a collection of essays. The people on the panel wrote some of the essays.

It sounds like an interesting book.
