Damn it I know I shouldn't cry but Jake's story on the CBS Evening News.
On the death of Jake a soldier in Iraq who was killed by a land mine
in 2005. The video of him being a little blond kid running on the
beach or w/ his backpack waiting for the bus on his first day of school
and then to hear from his family.

Seems that Jake and his brother signed up right after 9/11 to
fight for all of us ... so good and so noble and now so dead
as the people behind 9/11 walk free.

Damn this war and damn all those useless ass politicians who just
"don't get it." Wanna stop this madness? How bout going after the
man behind it? Dick Cheney.

1. When accounts such as that cease to affect your emotions...
you can just turn in your Human Being Card.

No, Botany, it is OK to cry about things worth crying for.

I cry when I need to.

And I laugh when I can.

2. It just hit me ...
... I am a dad but divorced and my son is w/ his mom .... that little boy Jake
running on the beach reminded me of my son.

We need to stop it and stop it now. This is just insainity and helping "the
bad guys" too.

3. Hi, Botany, and I missed this. If you could find a link, and I'll look for one,
and I agree, damn this 'occupation'. Why can two men and their cohorts continue something no one wants? Why are we enabling them?
Here's a hug, Bot.

And for Nothing!

All that death... all that suffering... lives ruined.... and FOR NOTHING!

There's going to be thousands like him.

I've got the Veteran's Day blues real bad. This fucking country has just got to stop making so goddam many veterans!

"I believe that if we had and would keep our dirty, bloody, dollar-soaked fingers out of the business of these nations so full of depressed, exploited people, they will arrive at a solution of their own -- and if unfortunately their revolution must be of the violent type because the "haves" refuse to share with the "have-nots" by any peaceful method, at least what they get will be their own, and not the American style, which they don't want and above all don't want crammed down their throats by Americans."

Commandant of the Marine Corps 1960-63,
and winner of the Congressional Medal of Honor
