I will be seeing John Edwards...
at a town hall meeting next weekend in Reno NV, I'm traveling with a group of Edwards supporters from Sacramento Ca, and of course I'm hoping to get a chance to ask a question. My question to everyone here: If you could ask one question, what would it be?

1. I think the best question that
would cover it all - Ask him how he plans to build a One America. That should kick off everything from Health Care, strengthening the Middle Class, rolling back tax cuts to the richest, ending the war in Iraq, and I could go on and on! Have a great time! :hi:

2. Will you have legislation introduced to creat Public Campaign Finance and
Election Reform based on paper ballots counted in public?

I know that's two questions, but I can't decide which is more important. Probably Election Reform.

5. But you can almost roll the two questions into one can't you?

7. Yeah, you could ask him which one he'd address first and how
he would then connect that legislation to whichever one he thinks should be second.

4. Same question I'd want to ask any of them except Kucinich...
Why does he believe his healthcare proposals are better than Kucinich's? Specifically, why keep for-profit insurance companies involved?

12. That would be my question, too.
Why does he want them involved?

Aren't they a big part of the problem?

Have a great time.

11. Love that question.
In fact, that was going to be my next JE post. Unless you're a political geek, like everyone here, or you live in Iowa or NH, may people have no idea who he is or what he believes in. I find this a direct result on the MSM lock on the corporate candidates. I want to know what we can do, in our own communities, to get the word out. Any ideas?

13. I think the only thing that would get the MSM attention
is something to do with sex. How about who's the sexiest candidate, run on a MY Space page? It would probably be a toss up between Edwards and Obama. The MSM surely would cover something as important as that? :woohoo: :sarcasm:

8. Would he consider Obama for his running mate?
That would be the best of all worlds, IMO. (Please don't jump on me, Obama supporters.)

14. I will try to find out for you.
As of right now, I don't know. I do know Elizabeth Edwards was here on a fund raiser about a month ago. I am hoping to see him in Sacramento.

18. Ask what factors he would consider in selecting people to appoint to high
offices like US Attorney General, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, Director of the EPA, of the CIA, etc.?

Or in the alternative, phrase the question as follows: Many of the people Bush appointed to positions like US Attorney General (Gonzales), head of FEMA (Michael Brown), Secretary of Defense (Rumsfeld), Director of the EPA (Christy Todd Whitman), Secretary of the Treasury (Paul O'Neill) etc. have either left under suspicion of incompetence or wrongdoing or because they disagreed with Bush's policies, and you have described the Bush administration as incompetent. What would you do differently to ensure competent government?

Another question on a different topic: You have said you will clean up D.C. What are some of the specific things you would do to change the culture in D.C.?
