Parents.com Poll: Which presidential candidate they would least trust to babysit their child?

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2007/11/parents.html

<snip>

Parents.com recently polled 1,006 parents on all kinds of issues that worry them about raising children -- Internet predators, school bullies, healthcare costs and a bunch of other stuff you don't want to think about once your kids graduate from high school.

But they also asked those same parents which presidential candidate they would most trust to babysit their child?

And which presidential candidate they would least trust to babysit their child?

Who do you think won? And lost?

Turns out, Hillary Clinton both won and lost. And that surprises you?

Twenty-six percent of parents said they would most trust her to babysit, but 25% said they'd least trust her. How's that for a split electorate? Are we headed to the Supreme Court again -- Clinton vs Clinton?

In terms of most trusted, None came in second with 19%, Barack Obama third with 13%, Don't Know at 12%, followed by Rudy Giuliani at 9%, Fred Thompson at 6%, Mitt Romney and John Edwards at 5%, John McCain at 4% and Refused at 2%.

Now, in terms of least trusted to babysit, it's not all that different with Don't Know at 19%, None at 13%, Giuliani 13%, McCain 7%, Obama and Thompson at 6%, Edwards at 5%, Romney at 4% and good old Refused still at 2%.

2. Well, I wouldn't let a Republican NEAR a child of mine, much less babysit them.

I would prolly trust the Dem candidates, but would worry about their not being distracted. I would vote for Edwards cuz I think he is great with his own kids, but so is Obama and even Clinton if you think about how well she did with Chelsea. Somehow I think Biden would be a little "out of it" to be a good babysitter, altho I kinda like him.

Bottom line is, of course, I don't want a Dem candidate to be my buddy, to babysit or do anything else except be a good president and do the right thing for this country. I've got friends and family that can take care of my social needs...

Because I sure as shit wouldn't want to be on a battlefield with someone stabbing Dems in the back while we're fighting BushInc pretty much on our own.

5. All I really want to know
is which candidate would do the best job of defending and upholding the Constitution. I don't care to have a beer with any of them, trust my kids with any of them, or hear how well they can recite Biblical passages. But I suppose defending and upholding the Constitution doesn't make for a sexy enough survey question. We are a nation of consumers rather than citizens, and are entertained rather than informed, so I guess what I really want to know doesn't make for good entertainment.
