Since John Yarmuth unseated Anne Northup last year, dimwit refuses to visit Louisville, but has to land AF1 here in order to get to his base in Southern Indiana. There are two interstate highways with bridges over the Ohio River between Indiana and Kentucky, and motorists are advised to find a route that doesn't use these bridges, all of this so that Bush can get outside the Beltway and talk to common folks, or at least the common ones on an invitation-only list.

President to speak in New Albany
If you've got plans to travel along Interstates 64 or 65 between Louisville and Southern Indiana today, the Indiana State Police have this advice:
"It would be good to have an alternate plan," said Mickey Neal, commander of the Sellersburg post...
...There are no events open to the public on Bush's agenda for what will be about a 31/2-hour stop.
White House Press Secretary Dana Perino told reporters yesterday that Bush plans to learn more about the local economy while he's here.
"The lunch is going to be an important time for him to be able to check in with people outside of the Beltway who are having to deal with the higher energy prices," Perino said.
In his speech, Bush plans to focus on the fact that the economy has continued to create jobs and higher salaries for workers despite high energy prices and the slumping housing market. The president wants to hear "why they think that we are able to still have a good job creation market," she said.
