Lyndon Attorney Says Government Spying On Him

ST. JOHNSBURY -- A Lyndon attorney who represents a detainee at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, told about 75 people Monday evening the government is spying on him.

The talk, held at the North Congregational Church and titled, "The Rule of Law is Dead," was sponsored by the North Country Coalition for Justice and Peace.

"My phone has been tapped, and computer hacked," said attorney Robert Gensburg. "We've been told by a professional who knows this stuff, and I suspect even does this stuff, 'Your phone is tapped.'"

Gensburg, who practices law in St. Johnsbury, said an expert found his computer has been bugged and "massive" amounts of files containing client information downloaded from it. Gensburg notified clients of the security breach.

And just this weekend an intelligence agency higher up said Americans have to get used to a new definition of privacy.

being tortured in Gitmo, and that they use waterboarding there. Hardly shocking news, but I think it's the first time I've heard that from a detainee attny.
