Here comes the Hannah Montana concert scam backlash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Thousands of "Hannah Montana" fans who couldn't get concert tickets are suing the teen performer's fan club over memberships they claim were supposed to give them priority for seats.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of a New Jersey woman and anyone else who joined the Miley Cyrus Fan Club based on its promise that joining would make it easier to get concert tickets from the teen star's Web site.

The document was filed on behalf of Kerry Inman, a New Jersey woman who claims that she tried to log into the site to buy tickets to Cyrus' Atlantic City, N.J., performance at the moment the tickets went on sale and was unsuccessful.

Pierce said the same scenario "has been replayed thousands, if not tens of thousands of times over the past few months."

Lawsuit filed on behalf of a New Jersey WOMAN who joined the fan club, eh?

I'm with Bill Maher on that score--adults shouldn't be glomming on to kids' shit. Let the little bastards have their little teen/pre-teen idols and icons without scary, overweight adults pushing and shoving to get to the front of the line--be it Harry Potter or Hannah Montana.

Funny how quick some people here were to jump to the conclusion that the plaintiff filed the suit on her own behalf.

Curious, I actually downloaded and read the lawsuit as posted on TMZ.com.

It says "Plaintiff purchased a membership in MileyWorld.com for her daughter..."

So much for the assumption that she's a nutso adult fan. Let the pile-on atop her for that reason, at least, end.

Now you can all pile on her for not simply sitting her daughter down and explaining to her sometimes institutions try to rip us off.

Edited to add: There is nothing in the suit to indicate that the plaintiff is either "scary" or "overweight." Perhaps Miley Cyrus's people will address that in a countersuit.

9. i remember the olden days of standing in line at Boston Garden to buy Rush tickets
waited 7 hours but i got them. Same thing for Ozzy, 11th row floor, that was awesome.

Standing in line--the horrors.
