Republican racism
You’d think Republicans would grow weary of hating, but somehow, they never do. It’s apparent in every election that the Republican Party is still using their “Southern Strategy,” which is built on race hatred. And the sad thing is, it still works.

Today’s Republican politicians have given the bigots a bigger menu to choose from. Not only can they discriminate against blacks, but it’s okay to hate all brown people, as long as you call them “illegal aliens,” or “terrorists.”

And before anyone uses the argument that the South was historically Democratic, that was true up until the time that Lyndon Johnson signed the voting rights act. The South very quickly turned Republican and Richard Nixon became president in a landslide. In effect, those Democrats of old are exactly the same people who are today’s Republicans.

At one point, I actually believed this country was improving for the better and then Katrina hit New Orleans. We watched on TV as our Republican president let countless people drown in a city that was being totally destroyed, and he did nothing. Can you imagine the reaction if all of the people had been white?

It was the Republican’s chance of a lifetime to get rid of the New Orleans’ black majority and they jumped on it. And let’s not forget Barbara Bush at the Superdome saying something to the effect that “they are underprivileged anyway … so this is working out very well for them.” And then she followed it up by expressing her fear that they would all stay in Texas.

Do you suppose we’ll ever see a day when the disease of racism finally vanishes?

3. Unity In Hate
The Repugnicans have built their strength on division...on being an inclusive club where only the "worthy" belong. The entry card is hate along with a good degree of arrogance and ignorance. Hate is what binds them all...be it hate of abortion of taxes or brown-skined people. All troubles in their world can be blamed on one of these people or used to show how they are superior. For years these people felt economically superior, "morally" superior and politically superior. Now the applecart is changing, but the main ingredients that make Repugnican will also be their downfall...and No, they won't give up racism, it's like asking lions to become vegetarians.
