WEDNESDAY, Nov. 14 (HealthDay News) -- Breast-feeding in the first three months of life appears to help shield children from developing food allergies.

That's just one of a number of findings on food allergies scheduled to be presented this week at the annual meeting of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology in Dallas.

in one post... Now, I can stop reading those laborious medical/epidemiological journals!:)

Sorry, but this one makes a lot of sense with considerable biologic plausibility, given what we know about the developing immune system. That's not to say there won't still be children who breastfed that develop food allergies.

7. Oh, I wasn't going against the OP.
I firmly believe breast-feeding decreases allergies and asthma. It's just that on many scientific threads, and most BFing threads, there are tons of "Well, *I* did X and Y happened! This must be false!" or "I did Y, and Z happened! This must be true!" posts, and I figured I'd cover all of them before anyone else did.
