SNIP

The outcome of the House vote has been in doubt in recent days with liberal Democrats saying they thought the bill was too soft because the 2008 date was nonbinding. Conservative Democrats said they thought it went too far and could tie the hands of military commanders.

The bill's prospects brightened somewhat early Wednesday after three leading anti-war Democrats announced they would support it.

California Reps. Lynn Woolsey, Barbara Lee and Maxine Waters said they would vote for the measure because a provision added to the bill states that the $50 billion "should be to transition the mission" and redeploy troops in Iraq, "not to extend or prolong the war."

"While this bill is not perfect, it is the strongest Iraq bill to date," the Democratic trio wrote in a joint statement. "This is the first time that this Congress has put forth a bill that ties funding to the responsible redeployment of our troops, and it also includes language mandating a start date for the president to begin the redeployment of our brave men and women."

1. It is being voted on now in the House.
It looks like it will pass in the house along party lines. It will cover the cost of the war until spring when another 200 billion will be asked for by *. It will then go on to the senate where speculation is (according to Cspan) it will not leave the senate due to the 60 vote threshhold. It demands immediate deployment but with no actual end date which they refer to as "soft". According to Dems today, Reid, Hoyer and Schumer (D-traitor), the cost of the war is 800 billion but actually 1.3 Trillion and more realistically including hidden costs over 3 Trillion dollars. Shumer is saying now that the war could top 3.5 Trillion. Aministration has caused mountains of interest to taxpayers due to borrowing. Anyone else watching?

Yeas 209 Nays 185 on procedural vote, Now they are voting on adopting the resolution.

OMG, sigh. I hope the Senate vote is a pleasant surprise.

3. I was wrong!
The second vote was to decide whether or not to debate it. It passed, so they are now debating on it. Final vote didn't occur on the bill yet.

5. But Dumbya wants $800 billion NOW....
Or he's going to hold his breath until they give him what he wants. Well, either that or he'll get on the TV and say bad things about those bad Democratics.

I'm counting the minutes until he finally pulls a Rumpelstiltskin. Or has a stroke.
