WASHINGTON (AFP) - Republican lawmakers on Wednesday demanded the retraction of a United Nations IPCC reports that describe the current and future costs of global warming.
They warned the findings of 2500 government-appointed climate scientists are riddled with errors and should not be allowed to stand.
"In the rush to score political points, apparently no one bothered to think about how many political points we'd lose on this issue," said Senator Sam Brownback and Representative Jim Saxton, top Republicans on the committee, in a statement.
"When erroneous information is injected into the public domain, those responsible are obligated to publicly withdraw this information.
