Na Na Na Na Hey Hey GoodBye (OPEC debating ditching the dollar)
http://thinkprogress.org/2007/11/19/opec-leaders-debate-ditching-the-dollar/

"OPEC leaders debate ditching the dollar. The Observer reports that during OPEC’s meeting this past weekend, leaders of the oil-producing nations “argued that pricing - and selling - oil using the crippled dollar was damaging the cartel.” The meeting was supposed to have been private, but was mistakenly broadcast to the media for more than half an hour after a technician had incorrectly plugged the TV feed into the wrong socket."

 Yeah, right, a mistake.\

That was no mistake, it was a deliberate message.

7. I'm loving it
For too long, the United States has held a position of superiority in the world. This wouldn't be so bad, if it weren't using that position to bully and threaten other sovereign nations. It's about time that the US was knocked down a peg or two. Maybe finally, we'll start treating other nations as EQUALS.

...but as long as the US is sitting on most of the worlds nukes...the arrogance and bullying ain't stopping in this lifetime. It will just get worse until eventually we become the worlds 12 year old spoiled brat that is running around with a loaded gun they dug out of their dad's desk drawer, and a huge chip on their shoulder after being kicked out of school...

8. Is this an idea you personally celebrate?
Based on the title of this thread, one could assume you are just giddy over this announcement. Regardless of how one feels about this current administration, this is not necessarily good news and it certainly isnt something that should come to pass merely because of hatred for Bush.

the title was an attempt to use a catchy phrase to grab attention at the same time it signalled the gist of the following story.

10. I think it's further sign that US power in the world is weakening.
To be sure, the US is still a very formidable power, but I believe it's past its peak.

11. I wonder if..
...the US is going to attempt to "balance the books" by annexing Canada and Mexico through the North America Union that seems to be in the planning stages right now.

I'm gonna have to keep an eye on the progress of that one.
