2. I used to do animal research in graduate school with a flock of pigeons

Some amateur animal liberator would come by every so often, break the coop door open and shew the pigeons out to "freedom".

When I'd show up, I'd fix the door, leave it propped open with some food in the coop, and all the pigeons would be back waiting for more food the next morning.

While I support animal research, I also support rigorous oversight by empowered animal care and use committees.
