Seriously, it's an embarassment that we passed on this guy as president and put that chimp into the White House. Congrats Al for another win - I'm glad to see that the whole world understands your message even if in America so many prefer just putting their heads up their collective asses.

Al Gore wins International Emmy Awards By Chris Michaud
Tue Nov 20, 6:19 AM ET

Former Vice President Al Gore won another honor on Monday when he received the Founders Award at the International Emmy Awards, which also gave a top prize to a controversial British television film about the assassination of President George W. Bush.

"Death of President," which explores the aftermath of Bush's assassination in Chicago in October 2007, won the International Emmy for best TV movie or miniseries, leading a pack of winners from the United Kingdom and the BBC that dominated the 35th annual awards.

The award was presented moments after Gore accepted his honor, an annual prize that recognized his role in launching Current TV, a cable and satellite network that uses viewer-created content.

Gore, accepting from Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, said in brief remarks that the future of world democracy "depends to a surprising degree on democratizing TV." Current TV was thus born of the idea of connecting the Internet to television, Gore said.

4. I guess winning awards is more important than running for president
and really making an impact on global warming.

6. Personally I think he's accomplishing much more by not being president
Look, don't get me wrong - I adore Al and think he would be a great president. But being a president means working with congress to get your ideals passed, which many times ends up being compromised. I think his push to advance the fight against global warming has been successful because there are no governing bodies to hold Al back.

And even though Al would still need congress & white house to pass laws to require business to go green, more companies are voluntarily making these changes because they know it's the right thing to do.

5. Call me bitter
but I really don't care how many stupid tv awards Al Gore wins. I guess now the Al Gore/Susan Lucci comparisons can begin in earnest across the internets.

7. What? Bush got assassinated a month ago and it still hasn't made the news?
Can't trust that corporate media for anything nowdays.
:sarcasm:
