For all those election pundits, 2 words: John Kerry

WAY behind until just before the primaries....

And, then he became the nominee.

But, since I can't resist throwing my two cents in - here's my personal prediction

Obama & Hilliary canabalize each other

Edwards wins Iowa. Media gives him huge credit for his 'working man' platform. America suddenly takes interest in him & seizes the message of US & THEM. He wins the nomination.

There is my bet.

(On edit, I am a Kucinich girl, this is just my best political guesstimate).

2. I've been saying this for some time. If Hillary loses Iowa her national numbers
will in all likelihood sink too. She has wide support but I doubt it's not very deep.

3. I've been saying that the general election will be Obama v. Huckabee since Dec. of last year...
so I might as well stick to my guns, since both of them are currently resurgent, and it'd be hellacool if my prediction turned out to be right.

As far as Iowa, I think that, after the first go-round at the caucuses, caucasers for the second tier candidates will mostly go Obama and then, in an effort to stave off Hillary, some Edwards caucusers will defect to the Obama camp, sealing the deal.

4. the way Huckabee is coming up in Iowa--he may be the true surprise
like Jimmy Carter in 1976.

6. Good possibility, but it would then be Edwards and Biden as the upper tier n/t

8. I really like Biden.
I think he has the experience and the intelligence. I think Biden and Edwards would make a good team, no matter who the veep is or who the pres is.

7. Given McClellans 'tell all" and the fact that Kucinich is the only one
talking about impeachment, I think he could be a surprise too. I do wonder if the early race (the day after the 06 race) will cause Obama and Hillary to canabolize each other.

10. You are closer to the real outcome than you realize.,..
This is going to be a slam bam primary season, and once a candidate grabs the momentum it is not going to provide the rivals with a significiant opportunity to catch up.

If Edwards wins Iowa, he will have the 'Big Mo' heading to New Hampshire in FIVE(5) days, and from there it is one heck of a ride to Feb 5 Super Tuesday.

As important as winning is in Iowa, the failure to live up to expectations can be fatal for a frontrunner(Ask Howard Dean).
