We have a new record! (Benson, AZ)
It's 81 right now... breaking a mark set in 1996 of 80.

It's November 20. And it's 81 frickin degrees out. Average for here is 64 for the high.

'course, as two recent LTTE indicated... Global warming is "junk science" and a "myth".

I just love livin in red state 'merica!

:sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm:

5. True
but the plants and animals are changing here as well. Now there are a lot of species who used to range in Central Mexico or even further south. And the native species are disappearing. That change is much more gradual, but long time residents see it within their lifetimes.

3. Hot in TX, too, again. But a cold front is winding its way down.
I cannot wait!

4. It was in the 90s a few days ago here in Los Angeles.
And the smog has been so bad I've had a headache for almost a week straight, in a time of year when normally we get breezes (or the Santa Ana blast furnace effect) to clear the air.

6. I always enjoy going through Benson in December
The rock formations in Texas Canyon are breathtaking and the snow on the mountains is beautiful.
IIRC, it is generally ALWAYS very cold in the evenings.
Strange weather.

8. In the 70's the
last two days in NE Kansas but the cold front just came through with temps dropping in the the low 30's the next couple of days with possible snow. Then back into the 40's. Our long term forecast here says we will have a brutal first week of December then a warm winter with the possibility of the last few weeks of winter getting really cold and freezing off all the spring growth again. We are all going to have to learn different ways of dealing with stuff now and it truly sucks.

9. I've lived in AZ first Coolidge, then Phoenix) most of my life. We've been in Phoenix since
before it hit the 500K mark.

I've seen the saguaros rapidly disappearing; lots of other native plants too. The loss of the saguaros is heartbreaking to me. I know they say it's from the introduction of a non-native grass and that may be part of it, but those saguaros are hundreds of years old.

We here in the desert know what's happening. It's no myth--global warming is killing the gorgeous Sonoran desert.

10. I was born and raised in the valley
and you are right...the golf courses and the rapid urban sprawl are killing one of the most beautiful places on earth.
I remember when 43rd Avenue was a 2-lane road.
Not only the saguaro, but I remember when there were acres of orchards in town. Now, they tore out the trees and named the streets after them.:(
