Betcha 2cents there's not a megachurch computer WITHOUT gay porn on it.

Actually, I think too many evangelicals are just messed up regarding sex in general. There's just nothing like a big shiny chastity belt to call everyone's attention to your privates.........

8. well. . .
I've heard of Conservapedia. It was all the rage a month or two ago as conservative types (freeper types?) said Wikipedia had a liberal bias so someone set up Conservapedia to "offer the truth."

Then I remember seeing some stats on how usage had dropped off after a few days/weeks to next to nothing. I've not heard anything about it since then.

At one time it was legit. I think it still is but admit I don't know much about it.

While this page looks like a page done by The Onion, if you go to conservapedia's home page and click on statistics, you go to this page.

31. Not much of a stretch. It's so unbelievable, it appeared to be a spoof
upon realizing it's real, the qualities that made it appear to be a spoof to me originally also make it irrelavent.

15. From the "Homosexual Agenda" page:
"The homosexual agenda, or homosexual ideology, consists of a set of beliefs and objectives. The ideology and goals, as explained further below, include restricting free speech, obtaining special treatment, distorting science, and interfering with freedom of association."

and look FABULOUS while doing it.

(ok, I added that last part)

21. if you want to control a population -- what better way than to
get a grip on their genitals?

social conservatives ''obsession'' with gay folk and or women's equality is the pathway used to achieve that goal.

fear of gay folk -- not unlike fear of the ''other'' in nazi germany -- will get a lot of attention.

through that fear you can send a lot of messages to control how people think about their bodies, sex, their lives -- and bingo -- you have control of them.

think about how conservative catholics equate pedophiles with gay folk -- and you can strategies that have worked for a thousand plus years.

25. I'm not at all surprised.
Right-wingers appear to be more obsessed with gayness and gay sex now than I ever remember them being before. In terms of social issues, for them there apparently is only abortion and gay sex, gay sex and abortion. They must wake up in the morning thinking about gay sex and go to bed at night thinking about gay sex. Hey, I'm a (straight) liberal and I have to say, I never think about gay sex, except when a loony right-winger brings it up (as they so often do). Why, I could go months without thinking of gay sex one way or the other if only they'd let me.

They're sickos. Really.

26. That is pretty damned funny.
Sort of sad. So afraid of their own queerness, they join the conservative cult to try to hide/make it better. The more they repress it, the stronger it gets.

Damned shame.

Still damned funny, though.

In a sick, sad kinda way.

28. Here's another knee-slapper from Conservapedia....
I haven't looked at that silly site in a while, but, prompted by this thread, I went back there. I happened upon a about U.S. government -- on which, we are informed, 25% of the homeschooled class scored 30 or more right out of 35.

This exam didn't exactly come from a neutral testing agency. My favorite question, reflecting the OP's point about their obsession with gays, was this one:

34. So-called “hate speech” includes which of the following?
(a) speech that is illegal under the U.S. Constitution.
(b) speech that no one agrees with.
(c) speech that the speaker hates to speak.
(d) speech that leads to hatred of the speaker.
(e) free speech that liberals seek to censor, such as criticism of homosexuality.

Yeah, I'll bet those home-schoolers had no trouble nailing (e) as the correct answer.

You can't get your own score unless you're a registered Conservapedian, and I didn't quickly see how to register. I think you have to submit an application to Schlafly and let him decide if you've swallowed enough RW Kool-Aid to be admitted. You can figure out most or all of the "correct" answers, though, by looking at .

Oh, by the way, Mr. Schlafly, along with your blatant bias and your rampant homophobia, there's at least one objective factual error in your little exam. According to your Question 9, the President must be "a resident of a state different from the Vice President". Bzzzzt! What the Twelfth Amendment actually states is: "The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves...." Thus, it would be possible to have President Pat Leahy and Vice President Bernie Sanders, even though both are Vermonters (and, although this is only a hypothetical ticket to illustrate a point, we could do worse and almost certainly will). The only catch would be that Vermont's three electors couldn't vote for both of them. In a very close election, that might make a difference. For that reason and in the interest of ticket-balancing, it's unlikely as a practical matter that a major party would run two residents of the same state -- but it's not a qualification for the office of President.
