CNBC's Mark Haynes is furious with the Bush Admin
Edited on Wed Nov-21-07 08:30 AM by Texas Explorer
Telling David Schuster that the one thing the People find the hardest to overlook or forgive is to have the President LIE to them.

Edited to add: Seen on MSNBC's Morning Joe with David Schuster sitting in for Joe Scarborough.

1. They found out he's a liar just now?
9/11 wasn't engineered by Saddam after all? And Al-Qaeda didn't have WMDs?

3. That was one of the more astounding bizniz reports I have ever heard
He went on and on about the war being conducted "off the books". He is outraged about Bushco's lies, and everyone should be, but he is not surprised. I have never heard an economist rant like that.

6. The OP left out some important context
I agree with your sentiment: "Who was helping Bush lie?" but it wasn't this Mark guy. He's just the stand-in financial reporter on CNBC. His rant was very much along the lines of admonishing Schuster for being "outraged" and surprised about the lies, suggesting that he's known about the lying all along and that this revelation shouldn't be anything new to anyone. He went on to essentially blame the American people for not demanding action by our leaders. In a way, he's right, but of course anyone who has posted here for any length of time knows we HAVE been demanding truth. We've marched, we've protested, we've written our Representatives and Senators, and it always falls on deaf ears. As he said to Schuster "all you have to do is look on the internet."

Bingo. DU frequently calls Schuster one of the good guys, but he's been slithering around in the snake pit just as long as the rest of them. It is absurd for any so-called "news" man to pretend to be surprised at the revelations coming from McScotty, when 15 minutes and a gold star on DU would have revealed all the same information.

5. You know what would be shocking?
1. If Bush told the truth ONCE
2. If the media didn't pander to that son of a bitch 24-7 and parrot his lies as if they were truth. Someone just arriving on this planet would never know that Bush was the most despised, incompetent, pathetic, ignorant leader in recent history if their only source of news was from American tv.

7. Amen to that
They should be flaying his pampered fratboy butt, but instead they genuflect and kiss it at every opportunity. Traitorous bastards.

8. Uhhh... He wasn't furious. He almost defended bushco by saying
'..go to the net and read the Pentagon Papers. All presidents lie.' He only conceded that he was offended by bush after Shuster hammered him mercilessly.
