No More Dirty Tricks: Help us stop sneaky signature gatherers
Watch the YouTube. Tell your friends, family and neighbors.

As you know, it’s against the law to obscure or misrepresent petitions. As part of our netroots and grassroots-driven campaign to defeat the right-wing dirty trick to steal the White House, we're documenting the tactics of "California Counts" -- the cabal of dirty tricksters behind this power grab.

Secretary Bowen’s office told the Daily Nexus, the UCSB newspaper, that they will open an investigation into the “California Counts” campaign if enough people come forward with information exposing misleading signature-gathering tactics:

“Secretary Bowen takes allegations of elections fraud seriously,” Folmar wrote. “She encourages anyone who has witnessed a violation of the California Elections Code to contact the Secretary of State’s Fraud Investigations Unit. Potential violations brought to the fraud unit’s attention are thoroughly investigated and referred for prosecution when there is sufficient evidence of wrongdoing.”

The Courage Campaign is in touch with the Secretary of State's Fraud Investigations Unit and is passing on this video to aid in any potential investigation.

4. The repukes here did something similar last year
They found me at a street festival in Mission and had a petition. They completely misrepresented what the petition was. I didn't sign it and I asked the guy for his name and the organization he was representing. He wouldn't tell me. That was a big clue he was being dishonest.

3. If you signed a petition
and not the one that the one for re-distrubtion of the votes, you should contact the SOS and tell them so that when they verify the signatures, they'll see the fraud.

5. Phelps does this.
That is how they got their ordinance on the ballet. If it had been passed it would have been unchallenged for 10 years because it was placed because of a public petition. Many many people complained once they found out what they had signed but not enough people went in to take their names off. All is well I suppose since it gave us a chance to whip his ass and hand it to him. :)
