Publisher Of McClellan Book: Scottie Won't Implicate Bush For Lying About Plamegate, After All

Oh, this is just lovely. The publisher of the forthcoming book by former White House flack Scott McClellan is now walking back the idea that the book will finger President Bush for knowingly misleading McClellan about Plamegate, saying that if Bush did mislead him, he didn't do so deliberately.

As you may have heard, yesterday the news broke that McClellen (sic) was set to publish new details about Plamegate, in which he suggested that he would reveal that he was misled by Bush himself about Karl Rove and Scooter Libby's role in outing Valerie Plame.

The book's publisher, Public Affairs, yesterday posted this tantalizing excerpt from the book on its site:

(read and weep)

We've been had. Again.

1. Well KO is covering this story, and that's a good thing.
Hopefully it will help bring this story back into the light, and it should help the Wilson's in their civil case. Either way it doesn't help Bu$h, and imho that's always good.

Peace!

2. That's the publisher's OPINION.
You and I have a different one. And I'm sticking to it. They'll have to prove it to me that they didn't do anything wrong. No "innocent til proven guilty" for this bunch - with me.

4. Rope-a-dope
Of course I agree with you.

Someone in the Bush Crime Family called Scottie's publisher.

It's not over by any means.

3. Only those that thought it would lead to something were had.
Some of us have been here before and knew better.

5. Lied by accident then, what a ringing endorsment
I didn't mean to tell you the truth, as I am incapable of telling the truth. Lies are just accidents waiting to run over the truth. I remain stunned that such a piece of shit-Bush-has all these people and this nation mesmerized. A decent nation would have run him off. He isn't fit to be dogcatcher and these people continue to lie and coverup for this piece of shit.
