Check in here if you have bought SOMETHING today.
I picked up a kids starter guitar for my daughter on sale for $20, and got some weather-stripping for the drafty doors in my apartment.

I guess I can't revel in anti-consumerist sanctimony. Oh well.

and then I bought gas for my car and went home. Couldn't stand the thought of doing non-essential shopping today.

26. We bought a down blanket for our bed from Lands' End
Trying to explain to my husband why we'd have to wait till tomorrow when he's already cold wasn't going to cut it. I might add that the blanket will also decrease our carbon footprint -- we can turn the thermostat down at night while we're sleeping.

27. I bought a hair dryer, a door, some chicken,
a Starbucks Peppermint Mocha, lunch, and dinner. To be fair, the hair dryer was because mine crapped out on me yesterday. I was dreading going to Target on Black Friday to get a new one. Then I remembered that CVS sells them. Was in and out of there in 10 minutes.

We also are getting a new front door, because the one we have is not energy efficient. (Long story there...) So, I went to Lowe's to put a down-payment on our order. I laughed at the people in line in front of Beast Buys on the way out. Oh, and I went to the Amish market to get some chicken and beef (grain-fed, no hormones or anti-biotics). They were also having a slow day. Also got lunch there (yum!). Just got back from dinner. But all of this would have been done on a "normal" day. No Christmas shopping here. I'm doing all of mine on-line this year.

29. Dr Brown's baby bottles, Diaper Genie II and extra bags, truffles and snails
it seems like a strange list, but 3 ounces of black winter truffles for 12 bucks is a hella deal and cans of large french snails at 6 bucks was also just too good to pass up.

I spent 80 bucks today including mall food.
