7. The real "Billy" is my former boss
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glen_Keane

I've met his dad, Bil Keane. He's sort of the Bob Saget of the cartooning world-well, maybe not THAT obscene, but his humor that's aimed at his peers is 180 degrees from "The Family Circus". Glen (aka "Billy") is a devout Christian and family man, but at the studio he was known as a "liberal" Christian; the neo-con types we worked with would scoff behind his back that he is so liberal that he "worships a Goddess or something." He's a good guy, and I'd welcome the chance to work with him again some day.

13. Having Keane sign a Family Circus calender for me once was one of my favorite
brushes with the famous. (My fav. was having an old man, who had worked for Shultz teach me how to draw all the Peanuts characters.) :)

14. You mean "Sparky"
I spent three days with him at a National cartoonists gathering. That was just a couple of years before he passed away. He had a bit of a problem with depression and really seemed to believe that no one "appreciated" Peanuts anymore. At the formal dance he was wearing a huge ornate cross around his neck. I asked him about it and he explained that it was a knighthood that the King of Spain had given him. So I said "well, between that and the fact that Snoopy flies over my home daily in the form of a MetLife blimp, I think it's safe to say that your work is still being appreciated"! He had to laugh at that. He certainly is missed.

6. Please tell me its not so...
Of course, I've suspected this.

I mean, he has lived with another man for decades, a man with an obvious oral fixation. I'm talking about Odie not John. An odd couple indeed.
