The last straw: "Church donations with a credit card"
I´ve only been at DU for 170 posts, thanks for all of the welcome waves.

I´ve commented on the issues

* the misconception that universal health care should be "free"
* torture outside of the USA
* uncontrolled household credit card debt and bankruptcies
* the weak dollar and the lack of trust in the US economy
* homegrown terrorism
* the importance of applying and renewing your passport
* and then there was the topic of "missing thread" which lead to a pile-on

DU is definitely addictive.

Today I found out something new about the American way-of-life:

THERE ARE MASSES OF PEOPLE IN THE USA WHO MAKE CHURCH DONATIONS WITH A CREDIT CARD

Now I understand how the "moral" got the "majority" in its name.

2. consider the greedy bastards who set up the credit card donation program
And just think of the kickbacks they are getting. I'd never be a member of a church that did something so heinous.

3. Time to start taxing the churches, since many, if not all
are political organizations.

It's ridiculous.

4. Heck, there are churches with ATM kiosks to make giving easier.
It wouldn't even surprise me if there are some churches that offer co-branded credit cards.

5. Not to argue that point but do you know if political parties pay
taxes?

7. It´s about placing the blame
for debt problems.

This is the tone of many DUers:

"Who is responsible? The credit card companies, the government, the corporations, the overly attractive "toys" which consumers are tempted to buy ... the American consumer doesn´t have a chance, they are practically "doing the American thing" and spending more than they earn, helping the economy, saving jobs, carrying credit card debt through their lives, wondering when someone will bail them out."

And then I read that people make church donations with a credit card.

It´s the last straw, because now I realize that it´s a helpless situation. A new government, new laws, a new currency, nothing can help a person who is donating on credit.
