1. Gun cameras aren't new - pursuit & fighter aircraft have been doing it for years...
...however, it's used to prove the pilots' "kills." Perhaps the police are going to start using them for the same reason?;)

2. well, in Newburgh, we have bad relations between the ghetto and the cops
So this was pitched as a way to hold cops "accountable". The second link reports the GOP ties to the company and how they had no real intention of really doing this.

5. Yes, and with strict rules to count'em
IIRC, the film had to show either; major structural failure (ie wing coming off), visible flames, or the pilot bailing out. If the images didn't show any of these, then it was counted as a "probable".

I wonder if there'll be the same sort of rules?

3. The Cops Think If They Have It On Film, They Win
Of course, film can be forged, hacked, altered, etc.

Some judges buy into that "proof" business. Be aware how flimsy most "proof" is in court!

its the stupidest thing I've heard of. The local GOP county chairman is involved. Do you really think its practical? What view would the camera show? The guns eye view, that makes no since? The cost involved for something that would NEVER work in the field is incredible. It more of a hinderence to the cops than a help. Its all designed to make the ghetto folk think the local Republicans our out to help them. Thats the truth plain & simple.

I'm selling a bridge in NY. Can you guess which one?
