Has anyone heard of Earthships Biotecture?

The Biotecture part I know is a made up word from the architect but these look like real earth friendly places. Right now I'm just investigating possible homes for a future move out of the city and maybe up into the hills around Santa Cruz. Well here is their website so please id you have any experience with these please post it. http://www.earthship.net/

I knew some guys that help build it. It looked awesome cool. Of course, this was out in the country and over ten years ago. Very smart, sustainable design. I hear the guy that started it has been having a lot of problems with getting code authorities to approve his structures because Earthships are "different".

I used to live in a amazing structure. It was made from oil tanks and cut into the side of a canyon. Damn, I miss that place.
