Edited on Mon Nov-26-07 03:33 PM by 48percenter
In for lingering cold. Found upon examination, going to be admitted to hospital for "outpatient procedure."

Cheney's on his way out, betcha.

22. No they found evidence of atrial fibrillation
can't be corrected by pacemaker, AFAIK, it needs a medical procedure (cardio impulse) to short circuit the muscle that controls the upper chambers of the heart. My friend had this done.

35. I am certain he has an ICD that effects both atrial & ventric. fibrillation
Two ICD’s that can terminate both atrial arrhythmias and ventricular arrhythmias are currently approved in the United States. These are the Medtronic Jewel AF® model 7250, and the Medtronic Gem III AT® model 7276. Of these two, the Gem III AT device is the more recent and more sophisticated. This device provides detailed diagnostic information about the frequency of episodes of atrial fibrillation, as well as performing pacing maneuvers where the device delivers extra beats or speeds up the heart to terminate atrial arrhythmias. The device can also deliver shocks to the heart to cardiovert atrial fibrillation back to normal rhythm.

Like V-tach or V-fib. A-fib has to be cardioverted, which is slightly different.

Edited on Mon Nov-26-07 03:56 PM by hlthe2b
clear. But, yes, a fib is not as serious... Plenty of patients are treated only with meds alone, including digoxin.

The units that effect both are very new and of course CHeney would have gotten the best our $$ could provide... This doc isn't treating him and may not know the details.. Or not... I didn't hear the piece. Regardless, they still would have wanted him in for a check up (and to check on the unit).

But the spiritual one is sorely lacking...

Doesn't he have a round the clock doctor staff? Noone (including him) noticed this before? I also have A-Fib issues and shit, when I get the irregular heartbeat, it's IMPOSSIBLE not to notice...Good to know our tax dollars aren't just going to Cheney's doctors, but to Cheney's SHITTY doctors...

18. Doctors forced to taser Cheney
Depending on how fast this new-onset afib is, Cheney will most likely need to be cardioverted or placed on a drip to try to get it under control. I much prefer to visualize him being defibrillated. This is usually a rather benign development, but in someone with his multiple cardiac problems and already having a pacer implanted, could get tricky. I'm near tears. (not)
